Great video. Just a tip for those new to European cars. Oil must meet the spec required by the manufacturer (not just the grade but the SPEC). Both grade and spec must be correct and it will always be full synthetic (not conventional or semi). Grade ex. 5w40 spec 229.5. I use LiquiMoly, Motul or European formula Castrol (made in Belgium not the USA). These fit the longer drain intervals authorized by companies like Mercedes. I also don’t ever go 10k miles on an oil change. Doing it yourself lets me use a higher grade oil without cost concerns.

I just did my oil change from Mercedez it was close to 800 dollars. I check how much it would cost me to do the oil change myself and to my surprise it was . Well under $150.00 . Using quality material. I check his video and for sure . Dealers do like ripping people off and that’s how they lose repay customers. Thank you for your content . I thought Mercedez only had the oil for their trucks I did like the fact that it was for 10,000 miles . Which is why I ala ways went to them. But look like im going to go back and service my own vehicle again.

It’s time to tint the front driver and passenger windows to match the rear colored windows. The windshield should have 50 or 35 percent full tint! There’s a lot of aftermarket 10 to 12 inch touchscreens with wireless Apple CarPlay and and Android Auto that’s easy to install. 😊

No gasket on mine...if I remember correctly the bolt has a washer on it that I re-used...no leaks. Some folks like to replace the bolt every oil change, but I haven't found it to be necessary on my vehicles.

Was there a crush ring on the oil pan bolt? I have a new GLS450 coming in a week and will be doing the oil changes myself. Thank you very much for the tutorial! (Never mind- I see the answer (no crush ring) in an earlier response from you to a viewer).
@pinkcaddygarage267
@pinkcaddygarage267 3 жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head, I honestly don’t remember. I’m pretty sure there was one on the bolt and that I reused it because there was no new crush ring supplied. It’s working fine and there are no leak issues. Eventually I would say both the bolts and the crusher ring need to be replaced to prevent leaks in the future.

Great videos. You raised the 450 to work on oil change; Did you lower the 450 for the air filter change? If not, how tall are you? Very well timed as my 2018 GLS 450 is just under 60,000 miles. Previous owner sold at 49,500 miles no doubt at end of service contract.

Not sure You two are still maintaining your vehicles as in the videos, but have you looked into removing engine oil by vacuum like the brake fluid? Sure like the idea of NOT going under the vehicleto remove crash plate or drain plug.
