I like both designs. The Benz is softer and more familiar looking (most might not know it’s new from the front). The BMW is more aggressive, and the changes to the headlights actually makes it look more modern. What’s ugly about these cars are those license plates. It really throws off the 4 Series front end design more.

The price of the CLE is the deal breaker for me. It’s basically a C Class that’s priced like an E Class. Mercedes didn’t even try to bring any “E” to this car. The 4 Series is much better value.

Awesome vid. That cle looks beautiful. New c class looks beautiful. Too much plastic in all new cars but the drive is very insulating. If this cle is based on e class, then I need to drive it. I love the 4 and have owned them before. But sometimes you want to be relaxed driving your car. The 4 is less relaxed. This new gen of Merc is also far less ugly then new bmws. Great vid Sam.

As an American expat in Europe..I just sold my BMW 640D Series Gran Coupe M-Sport...and last May my CLE 300 AMG-Line came in. I couldn't look at new BMW designs. The front of the 8 series bothers me and I can't stand the 4 series face. So, I gave Mercedes another chance and the CLE now sits in my garage.

I like the Cle more, it looks more classy and you can tell the difference between the normal Cle and a 53, the fore the BMW is hard to separate for me, it looks like the new M4 just with a different grill and diffuser

Very nice job, professional presentation. I really liked the effort on this video with. Thanks In my opinion BMW managed to do with this generation of 4 series what they wanted from the beginning. Differentiation!!!! While the new CLE looks pretty much like a twin sibling of the CLA, the BMW is unique. And sales proved that. It is still something that matters for many buyers. As soon as i start to get tired easily and want a chilled luxury vehicle that looks nice, i will get a Mercedes. But still BMW suits to my needs much better.

The Mercedes looks much better than the BMW. Mercedes coupes since the 50ies had no B-pillar all windows were retracktable , unfortunately not so in the CLE . The front of the 4-Series looks like it already had an accident…😢

@@enoch2252 I disagree. If BMW still used the pre LCI interior it would be the smallest screen in the segment, even smaller than Lexus. They had no choice but to update the interior. It looks nice to me. I think the Benz screen being vertical is what’s aging it faster.

I totally agree with you regarding the front of the of the Bimmer. I find that the Mercedes design reminds me of the Infiniti G37s especially the redesigned front bumper like the 2012. At least the G37 has handles to get in and out of the rear. How come you did not mention the gear lever stalk on the steering column. I don't like that or the weird plastic cheap vents.

As a bmw guy, the merc looks better. The big grill on the 3/4 only works on more aggressive wider front end designs such as m3/m4 and especially the gt3 race car.

But cracking doesent mean cheap quality. If thies noises appear while driving than youre correct. But which normal person handles the interior like this in the normal day? The sounds are normal because of how the midle console is integrated.

I like the 4 series. Mercedes bulbous, eroded by water designs are becoming really tired. Additionally, if a new car is creaking and croaking it’s going to be a rattletrap in 2-4 years. Even though the BMW is older and it's been facelifted it looks better then the Merc as in the case of the facelifted 3 series oppose to the C-class. Mercedes looks cheap and it shows why fake tailpipes, plastic that's what it is so cheap looks are there on the Merc and then the ridiculous price tag of the Merc,yes it might be new, but no Merc to me is worth it's stupid price tag when comparing it to it's closest rival in the case of the BMW. The sole reason why the Merc is bigger then the BMW is because it's a mix of C-class and E-class. Then the air vents of the Merc is also VERY CHEAP BMWs interiors are more solidly built. The screens of the BMW is on the dash and the Mercedes screen is in the middle so you have to take your eyes of the road in order to operate it while drive oppose to the BMW your eyes on the road, so once again not paying myself into a coma for Mercedes then a BMW I'll go for the BMW over and over again.

​@@SamCarLegion they are. the 3 series is better than the c class, bmws build quality is way better and superior to what mercedes offers even in the s class. i live in europe and bmw is selling more than mercedes and audi, there's a reason why. the 5 series has been better than the e class forever. the m5cs is the best sedan ever created. no one comes even close. the x5 and x7 are the best luxury suv and the 7 series is a better car than the s class so yeah bmw is the best premium brand.. have friend with audis and mercedes and even they agreee.. but at the end of the day you buy what you like, maybe some people do not like the driving experience of the bmw cause it's too good and too direct and want something cill, i get that so you buy a mercedes or audi but to each it's own... if you see the biggest car channels, the european ones in every category they compare bmw comes on top. carwow autogefule and so on , and to all people that say that bmw is unreliable open up consumer reports and see mercedes nearly in last place ahahaha
