Great presentation,as always Thomas.You are my favorite presenter.The details are presented with a unique smooth manner, i like also the way you driving as i am driving with the same style, and also as we have the same height it is useful for me to see the interior space better. I would like to see more videos from you like for example a full test of Mercedes S class sedan.And which is the bet hybrid car taking pricing into consideration and mileage coverage.

Thank you for being "real" on the race track. I also like the normal driving review after the track. Thanks also for covering the modes. A little surprising that their isn't any real seating in the rear. Glad to heear that the shifting is very smooth and crisp. A very nice car. I suppose a C43 comparison would be interesting, if you can do that, down the road.

One other thing: the four door sedan in the C63S would be more practical in the rear seating. Yet, one loses the extra wide rear axle and therefore perhaps some handling. Good idea on the seats.

Something or perhaps everything about the C Class Coupe just seems to work and it works extremely well. We have an actual car with a sloping roof line where in not only can you not get into the back seat via two extra doors, you, or one, cannot actually sit in the rear unless you are about 5 feet 6 inches tall or less. Even then, there is no leg or foot room. But this formula works. I saw that all of the tests and practical use videos do not show three or four people in the car. That's for the same reason that the same reviews for the Porsche 911 GTS, for example do not show three or four passengers in their cars. No. You have a single driver. In rare moments, one might find a passenger for particular purposes. None the less, the smiles and laughter and grins in the AMG 63S Coupe show that this is an extremely satisfying car. The C43 is not the sweet spot. Nor is the E AMG. The ultimate Mercedes engine is that 4.0 liter bi-turbo and all of the suspension and etc. put into the Coupe. What is the total weight difference between the Coupe and the cab?

That sound! Less base but it still sounds like a lion growling! Maybe even more now! Sounds more like the E63 S now! The interior was much less noisy before, is there any sound enhancing device now?? If yes, it does a great job!! What's the gearbox, the 9G-Tronic?? Gear changes sound quite different!!

Awesome review as usual Herr Thomas. Danke sehr. I have several traffic questions for my German peeps here: 1) are U-turns forbidden? 2) are you allowed to make a right turn on a red light? (I’ve read yes and no) 3) are you suppose to turn on your hazard lights when stuck in traffic. This gives the driver behind you a heads up on the traffic situation and he does the same for the drive behind him.

1) depends on if the traffic sign or white lines forbid it. Generally allowed, but in a lot of cases excluded 2) generally no, unless there is a stationary green arrow at the right side, mostly seen in eastern germany 3) people do that, but it's not mandatory

Hi Thomas, It's Mpumi from RSA. With regards to fake axhausts. My uncle drives a ford mastand GT and after punishing the car so hard, I noticed that because it had original exhausts they turned red and slightly melted the plastic rear bumper. So I think the fake axhausts idea by MB has been given some deep thoughts as it continues through out all their ranges and is beneficial to their reputation as a brand....... Imagine clients complaining about a melting MB bumper.

As I said, to me the most important thing would be to go with the base sports seats as they a) have a more comfortable form than the racing seats and b) come in dinamica/artico mix for better climate comfort. Assistance systems are important for safety, so I d definitely take distronic and blind spot warner. And Comand is nice to have to have a good gps...

Great review! Very detailed. I finally test drove the new facelift coupe 2 weeks ago. You are correct about the new dynamic selector on the steering wheel, I also found the built quality somewhat questionable (including the seat lever for rear access). Did you find the exhaust note louder (backfire) when compared to pre-facelift? I was very surprised with the ride quality especially on bumpy roads, it was very comfortable even in sports+ and race modes. I guess the hardest part now is deciding on the colour and seats.

Thanks for the feedback! Exhaust notes cannot be louder, they will rather be less loud due to regulations. About seats, as I said, take base sport seat with dinamic/artico :)

I can't confirm both statements for rain and fuel consumption, but I'm driving a non s Limo. Overall consumption of 10.5l/100km after 20k km, with major trips on highways less than 8l/100km. Also rainy weather never put me in trouble in sport+. Before I decided upon my car, I tested the coupe as S, too - nearly killed myself in a traffic circle. Seems to be a different world!

Absolutely agree with you! It's that deep muscular V8 growl that just sounds so good! M3/M4 truly sound awful.... horrible 6 cylinder engines. As for the M5, I think it sounds ok when its idling, but when you put your foot down, it just gets louder, it lacks that V8 growl. Nice to see a fellow V8 enthusiast by the way 💪

Will the coupe get the Cylinder On Demand technology in later versions of the facelift ? I can't see why they would put the technology in the estate but not the rest of the line-up since they all share the same engine.

I think those buttons for traction control etc will be replaced by high quality ones on the shipped vehicle Thomas I really enjoyed your driving. Very good. And the sound was a real treat as well. personally I prefer wet circles and doing slaloms for drifting to race tracks but the sound of hitting the gas pedal through different gears is unbeatable. interesting point about the 43 vs 63 for daily driving . I think provided someone is educated on what the 63 could do if you hit the throttle too hard , most people would be well prepared and would be more careful and in the end, the 63 is a much more enjoyable daily driver than the 43. the 43 is very sterile in comparison. if someone had no budget restriction, I would never recommend a 43 over a 63. ever . for sound.insulation you should do open and closed window tests. the sound insulation is superb for this segment. also for people with more skills , driving in sport mode can result in very smooth driving. I never drive in comfort mode and yet give my passengers a limo chauffeur quality ride.

Is this car good in winter?or in the wet?If you drive it properly and put slippery mode on?I am looking forward to getting this car as a daily driver but i don't know if i could drive this car safely in the wet/snow.I've left a comment on this video about that and Thomas said it was not so safe but i'd like to hear different thoughts.Also my other options are Bentley Conti GT,S coupe and BMW i8.Hey you may think i would never cross shop those cars but those are the cars i'd like to daily now!

Hey Thomas! That plastic ”protector” that you talked about located at the rear tires... i have a C-Class Coupé and i asked the dealer the last time i took the car to service, he said that it doesnt really have a fffunction of design, but instead its just so that the rear tires dont stick out outside of the car body, thats not allowed in Europe according to regulations.
