For 90k, in the US you’ll get the E450 fully loaded with AMG styling….absolutely ridiculous to get a bare bones 220d for that.

Exactly! Those days are way way back in history. Mercedes of the 70’s 80’s were something else. These days they’re just overpriced plastic iPads on wheels. No bulletproof engineering at all

I think bmw are paying every editors to make it seem like they’re the better car now so they have found the cheating part of marketing .

E clas for s class money is nothing sort of crazy. German cars are pricing themselves out of existence, certainly out of my price range and I’ve had at least 12 Mercedes and bmw cars and they were great, but this is at least 30k too much.

I’ve had several Mercedes Diesels and loved them except for the last one (Bluetec). At least in the USA diesels have no advantage. Diesel fuel is as expensive as 5 star octane fuel and my 2019 E300 turbo 4 gets 32 mpg in the city and 40 on the highway. Once you throw in the extra maintenance and repairs for a diesel they end up costing more than a petrol engined car.

What’s funny is since when was the 5 series a true e class rival ? I could of sworn since the e34 e500 came out the e class has always been a better car than a 5 series . I do notice that for a couple years now a lot of reviews has been favoring the bmw now even though the review was favoring the Mercedes when it came out a few years back . That’s why I don’t believe any biased reviews from any magazine or company .

@@NobbyOnCars ok but e34 m5 came out , it couldn’t compete with the 500e , the e39 came out to compete with the e55 . Mercedes made the ml55, c55, cl55, s55 , to quiet that comparison up . Then the e55 supercharged came out to put the e39 out which it did . Then the e63 came out to compete with the e60 m5 . Which the e60 used a enormous v10 that fail . Then when they came out with the turbo motor in late 2013 or something it had a ton of issue with rod bearing and premature failure . We’re talking about a true competitor . I’m not talking about rival because that’s a different debate . Then suddenly every editor is claiming the 5 series to be the better car which I highly doubt it because I own a few 5 series and they were nothing more than a over praised euro .
