Mine in 2024 is a W124 1989 260E. So wonderfully smooth and powerful vs smaller engines. Classics in Malaysia have to manage expressways at least 130kph. And the 260E delivers. Other Mercedes cars in 2024 we have a W126 280SE and a W460 300GD. All great icons of 1980/1990. We drive them because of their Classic Car status in Singapore. I am tempted to bring the RHD G-Wagon back to UK since it is originally 1983 from UK - and shipped to Malaysia in 2013. Now properly welded and fettled with a M103 diesel engine and auto transmission.

We’ve had our fair share of 211’s and 212’s over the last twenty years. All were sublime and boils down to maintenance and love. As it goes for any car which I think is the key to keeping any of the E’s for a long time.

I have a diesel 220 W213 coupe 2013 with 56790 miles and i love it. Its black and SE spec. I love it, but my wife and i are 75 and getting in and out is bloody hard. But one the engine has run up to temptature oh is smooth and very quite. The 214 has a brilliant cabin, and thats what im looking for

Back when I sold cars, once a month or so someone someone would trade in a car they loved because of an access challenge - most common were Mazda MX-5's. Usually a small SUV/crossover was bought in its place, but we always found a good home for their trade in 👍

What? The 210 is the worst generation. Plagued with rust and other issues that lead to Mercedes dealing with something that was unheard of previously, very unhappy customers who had to be compensated. It was the first Mercedes that was not over engineered, and felt it. I am not an expert, but have owned 9 E Class across all but the newest generation.

W210 is the best car I´ve ever owned,and I´ve had all the classics like W123,W124 too.27 years old E200 with 250miles and it drives and feels like new.Never broken.I have owned it for 12 years and it´s been awesome..and cheap to own.I think those late 1990s MBs were a pinnacle,really.Utterly reliable cars with modern features,not fully loaded with complex electronics.

@@matsujarvinen That is good. Nothing better than having a car that you can rely on. What I hate about the newer ones is that they are so complex, you can end up spending 1k on things like senors that fail
