Mercedes E320 what to do when the trunk doesn't open

Just another person to thank you for this video. It may be 9 years old and the cars in question over 20 years old but it helped me open the trunk after a bumper removal which made the switch think the trunk was open.

This worked perfectly for me. Afterwards i reconnected the airlines back to normal and now everything works as expected. I guess something got clogged in the trunk airline and the door lock line works with more pressure? Dunno but thank you!

Thanks....so much. I attached my metal key to a vicegrip, turned it gently counterclock wise, whilst pushing it in. It didn't work at first, then it set off my alarm. After turning the alarm off with my keyfob, I tried it again, then pulled the interior trunk pop and yippey... it opened. I then lubricated it with silicone spray, popped the trunk a few more times to work it in and make sure it was still working. Now I am poring myself a beer.... What a relief..... I had the beer and frozen groceries in the trunk. Thanks.. KZbin and everyone who helped make this happen Deepbreath....... Sculpin Grapefruit IPA now you are mine. Cheers!

I had the same problem with my 02 e320. Trunk wouldn't open at all. I followed this video. Took the trunk lock out and come to find out my trunk light was out and the clip was causing a short. Fixed the wires and attached the clip. Now all is good. So check your trunk light before anything.

Use the manual key, but first use a lot of wd40, leave it overnight. Remember you have never used the manual key since day one so its definitely corroded inside. Use a vice grip with your key and gently turn left to right. Once you have succesfully turned the key left to right, while turning counterclockwise press the key forward and it will open.

Hello Savorytoothtiger! My problem was that I tried to open the boot of my 97 W210 manually. The key slid in turned both left and right but the boot would bot open. And then the remote wouldn’t open it either. I sat back and surfed the net until I found your video. After following in your steps the boot opened. Then I put the hoses back to normal and everything works perfectly as before. The question is what did the metal key do to disturb the system and secondly why everything is back to normal after swapping and then putting the hoses back in their original position? Regards!

This just saved my life. The manual key would not work seemed corroded. So I thought no issue I will just take the back seat out and crawl through. After fully removing the back seat I realize it is welded metal with no access to the trunk. I was actually contemplating cutting a men's size hole in the metal backing and trunk cloth interior... So is this issue a bad air pump?

Thanks for the video its really helpful as my 210 is facing some air problem. Can you tell me that why there are only 3 air hoses for doors, why not 4? What for 2 separated yellow hoses are on right side? And what white hose is for as my pump missing white one. I am facing trunk opening problem plus my driver side door locks and unlocks with 5 second delay and also doesn't lock when you press the central locking button from dashboard panel. I think it's lil bit jam or low vacuum pressure? Waiting for your suggestions. Thanks

Or you could insert the key blade into the boot/trunk lock, turn it anti-clockwise whilst pushing it in and it'll open.

If the keyless system is working intermittently what else might the problem be such as a faulty FOB receiving unit or a bad sensor, etc. for a 97 E320 Mercedes with the jack knife FOB. It seems to work more often when I aim the key towards the mirror receiver.

I have a 1997 Mercedes-Benz e320, my key fob starts the engine and the button works in the car to close and unlock doors and trunk, and the lights come on on my key fob and the door but it won't work to lock or unlock the doors please help any ideas out there on what I could do to make it work. Yall... The reason for malfunction is most likely the battery which is w3ak already... I did this and yeah the battery died... Hahaha thanks tho for the tutorial

Damn if only that works for a2002 CLK 320. .my seat needed a special tool to be removed.. Key trick didn't work, buttons didn't either..mechanics want $100 , dealer wanted $300 and there was no info to tell me how to get back in my trunk.. consult my video up here if all else fails

I have a similar problem but more complicated, I removed my battery wires away to charge it I coled the trunk and now boom I won't open anymore and my battery charger is stuck inside any ideas how can I open it? :(

take out the pump take off the bottom. hit all the solder joints and see if that helps.
