Brilliant coverage of the EQE AMG, I like absolute attention to detail that you do. Other 'reviewers' seem to be too afraid to say any critical and every car is simply amazing without any flaws or room for improvement.

I like the hyperscreen but the light reflections on the passenger side are substantial on camera.

@ddd1million .. +1. .. Agreed. . Had a local MB dealership visit.... That screen is dashboard wide, although compartmentalized quite a bit..... MB puts its toe (foot) in the EV water... I wonder how many North American MB techs can spell EV,,,,,,,,,, yet? .. Gotta be as proficient as NA Tesla service... EV,,, Someday maybe, just not yet. $ is $.

Best EQE review. Bought a stock version with little options but ordered a full options version the next week because of your review. Great job. Should have seen it earlier but at least I can drive an EQE untill delivery which is like in 7 months. I must say, best car driven ever. And I had some fancy cars. Coming from a Tesla X P100D which was amazing but quality is not like Mercedes.

Great review Thomas. Not a fan of the exterior styling. Maybe it will grow on me like the BMW grilles but I wish this car had the more aggressive look of the AMG GT 63 since it has the performance.

I’ve seen the EQS in black in real life and it looked gorgeous, especially at night with those lights. I think the AMG version looks even better.

Supercars are absolutely still relevant. Although they are not relevant to people who were interested in them just because of the fast acceleration. But if you like going to the race track every now and then, the difference between a dedicated supercar and these heavy EVs is night and day.

RE: super cars. I think people are tired of constantly seeing things that are so out of reach and only reserved for the ultra wealthy who don’t seem to appreciate them. I think you are also right that supercar performance is much more accessible. It is also a case of cars losing connectivity for these isolated convenience experiences.

I really hate sensor buttons. This is NOT comfortable! I expect decent buttons on a car in this price range. Believe it or not, but that's why I'm not buying an EQE 53 AMG now. Besides I'm 1.90 meters tall and other reviewers also complain about the space in the EQE. It's a shame! Would otherwise be a fantastic electric car. 😔 Would have liked to have bought the car, but for now I'll stick with my BMW with combustion engine. Very good, detailed review. Thank you! 👍🏻

Hi Tomas! You talked to many designers from different brands and they all say the capacitive BS is more expensive and harder to make but they still do it. Why do you think they continue with that nonsense when the internet is full of complains, when it is expensive and hard to make? Does not make sense to me at all. 4:28 that cheap pull off cover for the DC charge looks like such an after thought and such a cheap solution for a car costing this much. Other carmakers make it a flip cover that just clicks in place yet here it's a piece of plastic on a plastic string that dangles on the side.

MB seems to be vet bad optimizing 4WD. They don't seem to switch it off for highway driving and range is worse than 2WD.

The whole dashboard display looks better than the Tesla-like dual display on other Mercedes vehicles. The looks is growing on me. Could be interested in an EQC down the road if it will have torque vectoring and rear wheel steering.

A great review. The current E class ICEV seems preferable until MB sorts the interior packaging and styling. A bit underwhelming for a new platform vehicle. Hey Mercedes remains a real low point and a good reason to retain a few buttons.

Great review as usual. Not impressed with the space packaging and for the price, likely most will opt for the S for another 20K. Much nicer... with much more room. However, this is the AMG so sporty and less space acceptable to that buyer. HATE the stupid lighting that MB has adopted for their cars. Like a bad teenage night at prom.. in one of those prom limos that kids stick their heads out of, lol..
