Mercedes GL350 2015 | water leak found |

Hi found water leak in my GL under front passenger seat and all modules are wet. About 2 years ago sunroof cable was snapped and merc main dealer fitted motor, cable and all components. Only glass screen was old everything else was changed. Now they saying it’s not sunroof. I am convinced that it’s sunroof. Can you recommend any options? Hope you don’t mind me asking that’s. Thanks

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. For some reason KZbin doesn't give us notifications for this channel. Dealerships are usually pretty good, but if they are giving you 'resistance' then I would recommend having an independent company check it. ...or telling the dealership that you are going to have an independent company check it. This might spur them into action. It does have to be said that just as the consumer has rights, so do companies. So you can't just have somebody else fix it and send them the bill. You will have to give them the opportunity to make things right. On the other hand, dealerships are not geared up to find water leaks and they certainly aren't equipped to dry cars or make-good water damage, and they don't like these problem cars that keep coming back, it doesn't fit into their systems and they can't make money out of it. They might be quite happy for you to take your car to a specialist and they may be prepared to pay the bill (if it's reasonable) in order to put the problem to bed.

yes, it was a problem with the roof weather strips.

@@CarWaterLeaksFound Do you happen to have the part #???? I have looked and looked and looked for the seal for that horrible window. I can’t locate it. Did you also replace seals for the roof rack?

@@scotthart6237 We don't stock parts, we order them as we need them from local parts companies or the dealership. Yes, I think we also replaced the seals.
