Good comparison! 👏 Hands down the Volvo is my pick. Too bad it doesn't have the tech to compare with the Mercedes MBUX. I like the interior more in the Mercedes as well.

The dash on the Mercedes Benz is not built into the dash; it is like a horizontal I-Pad that is placed flat looking almost after market. Agree the outside styling of Mercedes Benz is very nice. Overall I would chose the Volvo of the two.

same i hate that manufacturers put screens like that, that arent molded into the dash but instead put as and after thought and honestly I think it looks very cheap.

@@rigobertogarza7945 Yes, it does have the appearance that it was done that way to save money. It looks like something that would be on an inexpensive budget type vehicle, not a luxury brand. I am a little surprised more have not taken note of it; in fact some reviewers are positive about the interior and screen features (and don't say much about the appearance).

@@jazzbeau507 agreed…I can’t stand the iPad look. We deal with computers and handhelds all day. I wish they would go back to regular tachometers but designed in a way like fine watches. Ain’t like patek and Rolex does the iPad look in their watches.

Thanks for the succinct and informative comparative video. Both vehicles are excellent choices, but for a car that is already small in dimension, I would take the Volvo for functionality. But to each his/her own.

Even Mercedes Benz is wishing to be perceived as youth oriented when it comes to adding horsepower it goes on to use gas guzzling AMG engines while Volvo proposes PHEVs. To me, when time comes to better electrified vehicles loved by young folks, Volvo is going to be way ahead.

Oh boy, so different. If I don't need an SUV for the space, I am definitely going for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Although I would just be happy with the CT5-V.

I dislike the so-called "ambient" lighting in the Mercedes. It looks like 70s neon and disco lights in there. It's much too blingy for my tastes. I'll go with the Volvo interior because it is calmer.

Mercedes driver seat is not centered, tilts to the left. If you are not skinny, on a long trip that will give you a back pain.

The Volvo is by far the more stylish than the GLA inside and out. GLA’s instrument panel looks like a tacky fairground - in my opinion!

Not a fan of this segment at all. It offers very poor value and the vehicles are very compromised. The smarter choice is a larger mainstream crossover for the same price.

Mercedes definitely has some of the best interiors out there, however no matter what model you drive they'll always be somewhat of a statement car. I think that's why overall I can see myself in the XC40 - and Volvos in general - a lot more. Volvo these days have all the great looks and desires of luxury vehicles without attracting all the attention Mercedes, BMWs and Audis tend to...and I really like that
