I've read that synthetic grease ia little too viscous for the sun/moon roof. Many suggest using silicone instead. Did you have any issues after applying the synthetic grease?

Silicone with Mercedes sunroofs would actually worsen the situation. Tried it before.

Just bought a secondary 2015 C250 and I don't think think the previous owner maintain the sunroof too much. I tried opening the sunroof after purchasing the car and, upon closing, the gear made a loud 'clunk' noise. After that, whenever I speed over 40 mph the top-right part of the sunroof gap makes a whistling sound (implying it's not shut tightly), which is annoying when you get to highways.. The official mercedes dealership mentioned it require cleaning but obviously charges a hefty amount. I'm keen to try your trick but before I do that wanna make sure whether you know how to fix this issue and whether this the technique shown in this video could help?

To be honest, I have not run into that problem before. Although it may ultimately take a trip to the dealer, I would keep partially opening the sunroof and as you do check to see if you can see if anything is out of alignment or not engaging. Lubrication will help the movement, but it’s not going to fix a mechanical problem.

Imagine when the girl comes out at 05 sec and sunroof makes a defect and closes autimatic and makes you a toast 😂

If you car has heated seats, then her standing on the seats will break your heated elements fyi..

True, it is not “Mercedes sunroof lubricant“. But it did the job just fine. Yes, next time I can probably get away with using less grease!
