Part one of this video and lots of issues and obstacles to do this upgrade and hopefully lots of information and details for you too and finally at the end I need hints and help from you too so we can finish the work in part two.

Very cool video! So helpful and so difficult as usual with Mercedes !

Yes, it is somewhat complicated :)

I wouldn't call all Android alternatives cheap. There are some that look pretty OEM when installed and they offer quite a bit more than the original COMAND units. For instance, you'll be able to navigate with current maps and use the radio as a hands-free device for your phone. The reverse camera display will have dynamic lines (that curve with the steering wheel angle), etc. I'll post a link to a unit I like in a separate post. BTW, since you have the MOST system, you'd need an adapter (as you said) but alternatively, you could also route a special cable from the new head unit to the amplifier (which is typically in the boot).

Yes, agreed, a good solid Android head unit would cost +$300. They can be good but there are still cons.

i want to ask i have a w203 with audio 20 and i want to put ntg 2.0 should it work or i have to make coding via xentry
@BenzAddiction16 күн бұрын
80 percent would need coding as the fiberoptic sequence and loop and devices would not be the same.

@ΑλεξανδροςΠεκινι so you don't have the 2 orange cables in the back of the unit?

I wonder whether your new COMAND unit is compatible with the amplifier. The fact that the MOST ring configuration has changed, shouldn't cause trouble; for instance it is usually possible to remove a CD changer and/or the phone/voice unit, without losing sound (as long as one replaces them with the bypass loops you used). Unless there is now some conflicting information, the system should technically still work. However, if there is some protocol mismatch between the new head unit and the amplifier then I don't think any change to the ring configuration will fix your issue. I could be wrong, though.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I believe coding and MOST issue are 2 seperate issues. I think the first issue is to code the HU25 so amp and other modules can recognise it.

I am not an expert but did your new NTG2.5 command unit come from a Mercedes with Harmon Kardon audio with external amplifiers? Maybe the head unit is expecting external amplifiers and the internal amplifier is disabled?
@BenzAddiction4 ай бұрын
I have tried disabling and enabling the external amp with no results. Unfortunately my conclusion is that the AMP used on Mercedes-Benz after 2009 is different so the older ones can not be recognised by the new head unit.
@barrydandrews4 ай бұрын
@@BenzAddiction I agree with your conclusion. Is it feasible to add and wire a 2009 or later AMP in your 2006?
@BenzAddiction4 ай бұрын
@barrydandrews I think it is. But might as well wire the speakers direct from the head unit, let's see in the second video 😉
