I would totally advise that you do the paint correction yourself, most of those scratches can be removed or greatly lightened by compound and polish. You've already done the hardest and most technical work on it, paint correction is the easiest besides having to use some elbow grease!:)👍

I say send it in for "paint correction" and perhaps look at what a decent PDR guy can do. I think the new headlights would be a plus especially if the one OE headlight's level motor doesn't work.. I was surprised about the blue devil stop leak - usually that sort of thing is "wishes in a bottle" but between the filter change, the tinkering with the ABC system and the "snake oil" it may have done the trick. For $3,000 in it I say keep it till it starts costing you several hundred a month and enjoy it - remember Winter isn't too far off and driving a Corvette then probably isn't the best idea.

Randy I'm watching this late in the game for this car but here is a tip. When you have areas with too much touch up paint gobbed on, take lacquer thinner on a rag and gently go across the paint. It will slowly remove the touch up paint. Quit when looks flush. To apply more paint the end of a paper match works well or a very fine hobby brush.

I love the W220 and am looking to get an S430 or S500. if you don't mind the gas mileage, I say keep it. I had a Ford Taurus Sho that did the same thing with the steering rack. Things like binding or notching steering wheel when you would go around turns on hills or corners. What happens is all the metal shavings cause metal to metal binding in the cylinders that move like a piston full of fluid pressure. Also, your pressure sensors have little pin holes the fluid pushes into to operate a closed connection between a plate and a spring. This is one of the reasons why changing fluid on trans, gearbox .etc is important. I changed the fluid and filter on my truck transmission before I rebuilt it, even though it was slipping. Just so I could flush out the contaminants before I rebuilt it. Even though it was flushed, there was still remanats of metal inside the valve body and areas where it got stuck. But just things like flushing out the steering fluid on my sho by filling it, turning it a few times then running it empty from the return line till it was red again made it like new. I have also seen new cars where the transmission seemed like it was blown. But ended up being caused by a transmission flush at jiffy lube or not being changed for a long time. The reason for that one was the manufacturer designed the transmission with a internal filter system. So the only way to change the fluid is drain it. But when you don't change it or flush it. The metal gets into the secret screens, blocks them and causes no fluid to go through the shift system. So this being my long story and all. I am glad you changed and serviced the filter / fluid. I would assume the car would need another filter in 6 months of driving to catch up on metal cleaning. But that was something new to learn about the Merc hydraulic suspension. I used to have a lowrider for a few years. So I can understand how Mercedes designed the system to not be as tough and bouncy as that. I would also suspect that the clogged filter and gritty fluid probably put more stress on the lines by blocked flow. So I am glad you got that handled with all of that. There is no sense in changing it with oem fluid at this moment until the fluid is decontaminated and the filter is changed again. I would say change it after 6 months of daily driving. Incase the leak turns into a broken part or line from the clean fluid not plugging what the old fluid damaged. One last story as far as fluid. If your brake fluid is black, it is safer to change it at the reservoir or flush it. Than to ignore it, because the black stuff is worn rubber from your pressure seals. I went through this on a girlfriends car, changed the fluid and a few months later her brakes began getting softer and softer to the point of concern. Then ended up changing the master cylinder on a 300,000 mile Camry. But I am pretty sure if I did not change the fluid. She would have lost her brakes 100% during a hard stop with how quickly the master failed after changing the fluid that was keeping it from showing signs of age.

I really like this S600, for the year and having been sitting for as long as it did, it seems to be in really good shape. I’m looking to buy a new vehicle myself, daily driver. I recently sold my 2009 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro. Fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Rare color combo, Black outside , Red inside. Very low mileage, had just hit 60k. Had it for almost 2 yrs which is a very long time for me. Just really enjoyed driving it and it was great in the snow as well so I kept it a little longer than usual. Paid 15K sold it for 14K. Not bad at all for 2 years of daily driving especially Since the only maintenance I had to do in the 2 yrs of owning it was, 4 oil changes, a new set of ceramic brake pads, drilled rotors front and rear, new all season tires and replace a tpms sensor. Oh and I flushed all the fluids once. The 3.2L engine gave me absolutely no issues whatsoever and luckily had zero electrical problems, granted it only had 60,000 miles. Anyway I’m looking for a new daily driver, something alittle cheaper than my Audi. I did want a newer vehicle but if u wanted to sell this S600 and start a new project I would gladly pay u 4K cash or bank check and PayPal u a deposit before I even came to pick up the car so u know I am serious about buying it. I go to the local auctions here in CT where I live, once in a while I check out co-part. They have an auction every Tuesday about 30mins from where I live. Haven’t found anything yet and just figured I’d shoot you the offer. You don’t need to put new headlights on it or have it detailed. I’ll take care of that myself. As is 4K. Lmk if your interested. Thanks for your videos, I just subscribed to your channel. I like what your doing bro, Keep it up and I hope to hear back from you either way. You can email me if u want. m.carolan21@sbcglobal.net

Well, if you watch this whole s600 series, you will find ebay parts galore. And I don't consider AAR as a cheap bstrd. Hate all you want, there's a reason for the Civic brand to have made it this far. Very few car makers can brag about a model that is in generation #10. Not even Mercedes. And how much was this car anyway? A Mercedes? Oh yea, $1,600 dollars. And DONATED. As in "Don't care how, get it out of here!!"
@CleanSC6 жыл бұрын
Hey, I have no issue with ebay parts. Especially when ebay is used to score good OEM parts, new or used. As Randy has done before. My point is the *look* those lights convey, to ME, is a cheap aftermarket repair because you couldn't afford the OEM ones. The OEM ones are better. They are genuine. And they are not damaged. Why change to something inferior? I get that for some they like that JC Whitney look because they think it's more modern. I don't. Not on a car of this caliber. If this was one of his Turo cars, GO FOR IT. Not on this one. Randy asked for opinions. So I put in my vote. Not hate. Just the vote he asked for. BTW I respect Civics, they are fine cars. Doesn't stop people doing certain mods to them which creates certain stigmas.

If it is going to be your daily driver, then keep the headlights as is and save yourself the cash, same for paint correction.

I'd say if your gonna keep it then do what makes you happy. At some point your probably gonna end up putting more money in it then you could ever get out, but car guys do that. It kinda comes with the territory if I'm honest and there are worse things out there you could blow money on so if it puts a smile on your face and a pep in your step then treat that car to a spa day and face life. Power to you buddy, amen and hallelujah.

@@AutoAuctionRebuilds Off topic but I'm in the city about once a week and only live about 75 miles from there actually. I'd love to see the car in person sometime if at all possible.
