Nice car and good job . One point , the oil filter housing should be opened before the sump is drained , to allow all the oil to drain down , otherwise some old oil will be retained.

Another great video - thanks. You mentioned discs and pads but didnt go into detail.. What would be very useful for me and I am sure other viewers is how to disengage and reengage the SBS (Servotronic Braking System) when working on the R230. There is some information on the internet but its a bit vague and also somewhat contradictory. Watching someone like yourself who actually has practical experience would be very useful. Hi great videos, I’ve just brought a 07 Sl 350 as a weekend car , I noticed you said you trickle charge the batteries when not using for long periods , do you trickle charge the both or just the main battery ?

Thanks! Just the rear, the battery control module seems to take care of the front as it never deviates from 12.6V

Hi Sir. Congratulation for your video. A couple of question: 1. Is your COMMAND the original one or did you upgraded to the facelift version? 2. which kind of pump did you use for suck steering oil? 3. any video about changing brake oil and brake pads? Thanks

Thank you. My car was the 3.7 but had the facelift dash with newer COMMAND unit from the factory. The pump is a 9litre oil extractor available on ebay and no sorry I don’t have a brake vid for the SL.

job well done, just a question, where did you have positioned the floor jack to lift the front axle?

Theres a front center jack point, a square plastic puck, protruding from the middle of bottom engine cover. If you are not sure though don’t do it alone!

Awesome thorough video! Is your crank pulley starting to come apart or is that just the paint/coating flaking off the rubber?

Thanks! Glad you like it. Just the surface flaking. There are a few model years that suffer from that but actual pulley is still solid, no vibrations or unwanted movement/noises so all ok👍 you would know if your crank pulley was shot!

What about the other pulleys and the water pump, don't they make any noise? I don't know an M112 and M113 that doesn't have any problems with it.
