I think this looks way better than the F12, the only thing I like about FERRARI is the circular tail lights, their styles are just too flashy at first, but it gets doll when time pass on. Whereas the SLS, it looks better and better when look at it more.

I personally like the F12 better but the AMG is nice too. I don't like SLS rear end at all but the rest of the car is nice. I think the F12 just looks more aggressive. SLS seems a little more classy though.

Mr. Harris, I totally agree about the boy-racer looking, mini GT3 rear wing. That's why when I am going to become an SLS owner in short time, I'm going to go to AMG's in-house customization center and order an SLS gullwing door car, silver with red interior, and black or red brake calipers in place of those tacky yellow ones, but with all the go-fast elements of an SLS AMG Black Series, but with none of the aero bits, just the gorgeous regular SLS AMG body which is a pretty much perfect modern-day interpretation of the 1950's 300SL gullwing cars. A well deserved treat for myself after the better part of 30 years as an aerospace engineer, keeping Boeing and Airbus commercial airliners flying and making upgraded spares for the F-15 Eagle/Strike Eagle.

yvonne sanchez Thanks. As for the studying aerospace engineering, it might seem tough at times, but the technology you'll be working with like CFD was something my generation had to adapt to. When I started, we still relied on wind tunnels and models as our best guess at a result. But if you're studying it now, they're going to teach you all about CFD and all the newer computer stuff. All I can say is don't give up. It's a challenging and rewarding career. Lol, I can remember when CAD/CAM seemed like the most amazing thing ever and there was no way such technology could be topped. And I'm pretty sure they're still gonna teach you the older stuff, the fundamentals. Depending on who you go to work for, you might still well be using wind tunnels along with CFD. But nowadays there's rapid prototyping, CFD, more advanced CAD/CAM. I'm not saying those things are going to make things a walk in the park, they are tools that your bosses are gonna expect you use to come out with the latest and greatest possible. But yeah, it's a great career, lot's a challenges, even some fun, lot's of fulfillment, so just keep studying!

Usually, LED lights are driven by PWM pulses, which means they flash on and off many times per second. This isn't visible to the naked eye but a camera can catch it.

4 years later and these things have more than doubled in value. Definitely the right move for AMG to end the SLS run on this and start with a new model to replace it, rather than continuing the same name through multiple generations. The AMG GTR is amazing too, but the SLS in an instant classic.

The engine looses torques because its tuned differently to move the power band up to the higher rpm's to increase the horsepower. So it might have less torque at say 4000 rpm but it will have more torque and hp in the higher rpm ranges compared to the normal sls. This type of setup is much better for the track because you usually always run the engine in the higher revs while on the track.

Exactly. LEDs are at a different frequency that traditional bulbs, so the refresh rate / capture speed of the camera causes that weird blinking effect. Similar to recording video of an old CRT TV, where you can see the scanlines.

I'm NOT a German car kind of guy.... I prefer Italian and Japanese, but this is a really cool car.... Its awesome, and honestly, I don't think it will put down a lap time the same as the Berlinetta, but its definitely more fun.... The F12 is great, and I'm sure its brilliant on track, but this thing loves to have fun, and isn't completely obsessed with lap times, if I were picking, I'd honestly probably have this, and this is coming from a German car hater, good job AMG...
