The SLS is my favorite car and I been lucky enough to see and hear a Black Series, one night I was walking downtown Manhattan in NYC, and I heard this thunderous sound that echoed around the buildings and it was a white Black Series just like this video, never forget that moment.

The 997 2RS is such a monster, BAD motherfucker of a car. Still one of the fastest manual cars ever made, even 14years later... It's one of the last cars with old-school turbocharged character, a bit of lag and extreme sledgehammer boost. It's from the era when turbocharging was purely for raw-performance gains, not just efficiency. Modern turbo motors don't have that old (kinda shit but cool) personality, they just attempt to mimic NA behaviour resulting in a loss of identity. Genuine turbocharged drivers cars are very rare breed, the 997 GT2 & 2RS are all-time greats imo.

I luckily own a 993, 997 and 992 turbo S and I’d agree 100% with you. The best drivers car would be a GT3 RS. Whereas the SLS Black series comes, in simple words; it’s an amazing machine. Would love to own one 🙏🏽

Forever a Porsche fanboy I am--particularly ones from the air-cooled era--but the SLS Black has always made one hell of a statement for itself. It's been years since I've been in one (it was as a passenger), but even in the _wrong_ seat I was having a blast as we were chasing a 991.1 GT3. Thanks for reviving those wonderful memories.

The 997 in all varieties is my favorite car of all time. I was lucky enough to own a C2S for some time and put nearly 80k miles on it. I'd happily buy a .2 GTS manual today and while the RS 4.0 is my favorite variant, the GT2 RS wins for me in this competition. That being said the engine in the Benz is an all time great.

I'm a big Porsche fan. And the GT2 RS is such a menacing, angry thing and I really love it. But if I have to choose just one it has got to be SLS Black. It's up there alongside LFA, Murcielago 640, 991.2 Speedster, 675LT and 458 Speciale as my absolute favourite cars of all time. I remember the first time I saw SLS Black. It was in 2021. And it's in my favourite colour, which is AMG Solarbeam. That day is still very much etched in my brain forever.

I own a 992 GT3 RS, 992 GT3 (manual), 992 GT3 Cup, GT4 RS, Spyder RS, and a Taycan but I'm looking at a 997 GT2 right now. I love the 997 gen. I plan to get the 992 GT2 RS when it comes out, but I'm not sure I will like it better than my NA, high rev'ing, beautifully sounding, 992 GT3 RS...for the same reasons they mention in the video. Plus, it's thought that the 992 GT2 RS will have over 900 HP (hybrid), and I would rather slam it down than be forced to hold back. The same reason I like my NA V8 M3 (manual). I can push that car as hard as I want.

I feel like you gotta compare the gt2 to the sl65 black series, the sls and slr more of collector cars base on the SL platform the 6.2 V8 but its not that outrageous TT V12 in the sl65, the gt2 is much quicker then the sls but the sl65 is much faster then both especially at 100+ speeds

I've never really liked the design of the SLS, Shmee's blue SLS Black is an exception simply because of that colour. The Porsche is a much better looking car, imho. ...but I'd have the 6.2 N/A monster engine, over a turbo. That AMG 6.2 is bloody fantastic.

I want to say give me a 997.2 GT3 in Atlas Grey and then with the money I've saved I could still have the Mercedes experience and pick up an SL63 of this era to cruise in to pair with it depending on mood. But I think if I only get one gun to my head having driven neither before I'd be going for the Porsche. Because the car experiences I have had lead me to believe it would be a more engaging and fun car (own a 996TT X50 and a 718 GT4 and have driven a 2009 SL63 though it's hard to imagine a car with over 100 more hp and 8 or 900 fewer pounds).
