Good job! I would like to see how you reattach all connectors in the back of the cluster as it seems quite difficult to do so if the cables aren’t long enough. Thanks

Hopefully you don’t have the issue with the biodegradable wiring loom. I am doing a customers 1996 w202 & it is a complete rats nest. What was meant to be a fairly easy job since I’m a mechanic by day & know the car. I thought I could tackle the non running A/C. Boy was I wrong. I’m now in the process of replacing the entire engine wiring loom. As that was the cause of the A/C issues.

No this issue started in 93/1994 only.

Also. The three connections on the cluster beside the speedo cable. What are they for. Someone was messing with mine before me. And had the green wires soldered to the pins.

Echt? I see the Dutchness has rubbed off on you MM :-) All this talk of worn out leather knobbage... Nice work on the LCD mate, Yup the font looks slightly out but im also seeing that the contrast on the display is way better. I did one on an 850 Volvo Cluster a while ago and its a VDO unit, the Cap was dried as well and way out of spec but it also did other functions as part of the trip computer so I de soldered and re soldered all the pins and cables. I got my LCD from a Swedish mob so the lead on Marcus is awesome, his factory sticker selection in particular. Nice work!

How did you get the ATM to have this blue light? I got mine renewed and it doesn't have this blue light. At night I can't see nothing!

My outside temp display isn't working, do you know where the outside temp sensor is so I can check if it is faulty?

Did you have to undo the speedo cable at the tranny before pulling the cluster and disconnecting the speedo cable behind the cluster ? Certainly don't want to stretch my cable when I attempt that.
@MMWA-DAVE2 жыл бұрын
nah, but you may have to take the dash underside coverings off to release the firewall mounted holding bracket on the cable if its never been out before. Mines been in and out many times on both cars so has plenty room behind

I have followed this video. And ordered my display. But after fitting. It’s illuminated. But it has no text on it. Wonder where I went wrong. Thanks for the video. Wouldn’t have attempted the job without.
@MMWA-DAVE Жыл бұрын
i wonder if you ordered the correct version - there are 2 electrically different version LCD’s based in which version temp display you have. In any case i would check with the seller.
