Mercedes W212 | E350 Remove Storage Compartment Lid Armrest & Repair

In this video Mike Icee will replace (removal) the storage compartment lid armrest on a Mercedes W212 E350 e-class. The unit costs about $100 at a junk yard for a MINT one or $660 at the dealer for a new one.
How to remove and repair center console storage compartment armrest lid for the Mercedes-Benz W212 E-Class sedan and wagon 2010 - 2016. The procedure is almost same for all W212 models.
Always check with a Mercedes Dealer for proper parts and repair methods.

Mike--where did you find the replacement lid? I just need the left lid in tan, but might consider getting both sides replaced in a darker color.

You can buy them from junk yards (car recyclers) or if you're in a small town the tow yards will sometimes give access to obviously totaled cars (jaws of life doors or roof cut off)... I wouldn't buy it new because its over $660. I paid $100 and got some extra bits. You can also try eBay.

What is the right-angle tipped tool called that you put in the holes to remove the back panel? Is it from a Hook and Pick set?

It used to be called a Mercedes instrument cluster removal tool, you can also go to local Ace Hardware store and buy K&S "piano wire."

So the lid from the dealer is $660, but you can buy a mint one from a junk yard or sometimes a tow yard for $100-$150.

Hi there, is there any known way of solving the squeaking sound coming from the front seat of w212 e350. The sound is there when you move your body or hit a brake or do a sharp turn. I have used wd40 to the springs below the seat but i guess the sound is coming from the inside. Ant suggestion will be helpful. Thanks in advance
