i would reccomend OEM replacement. I tried 3 blower motors in increasing price, $35, $45, and $75 (None OEM). There was some whining at low RPM on the first, so I thought I would replace it. Little did I know that the next two would only get worse :/ OEM is like $130 on rockauto. I'll live with it but if I had to do it again, I think I would buy OEM on this part

Props, Man! Good choice in parts you used as well as tires 👍 Those Continentals are the isht! Planning on doing shocks and sway bar links all around this weekend. I don't have the air ride either so this looks like pretty basic stuff aside from all the damn cosmetic panels and clips...which are probably the hardest part 😂 While the specialty tool would be nice, it's a luxury, and we'll probably only use it once anyway. Real mechanics can figure it out though 👍

If your blower functions on all power settings, clean it before replacing it. Its a very well made piece of machinery with a Bosch motor. A can of electrical contact cleaner and some compressed air is all you need. And wash its casing thoroughly with dish soap. Soot buildup in its casing is often the noise maker. There are some really good aftermarket replacements, and some really bad ones too.

Can you access the headlamp ballast module this way too?
@RothBeyondTheGraveАй бұрын
Yes, it's mounted to the bottom of the headlight assembly. You may not need to remove the wheel or wheel well liner depending on chassis & options. On my C207 E coupe, I can get to the ballasts by removing the forward most splash shield & that's it.

Two minor suggestions: at the start when talking about tools needed, you said "you'll need a 10 millimeter and a 13 millimeter". I assumed you meant a metric socket wrench, which was confirmed later by the video, but it might have left some viewers scratching their heads. The other thing, on the subject of POV, I assume you head the camera mounted on a head strap. When removing the clamp that locked the battery in place, you needed to tilt your head down to get the view on the clamp and bolt, which might be hard to shoot as it was a tight spot. I replaced the battery on my daughter's MB Sprinter and it was the most challenging part of the job. Also, you mentioned removing and re-installing the "vent". The concept of a battery vent is a new one on me and I wasn't sure if you meant a battery vent or an A/C vent hose. This, too, was clarified by the vid, but a bit of explanation would have helped. All in all, a helpful tutorial and I'm off to the garage to swap my old battery, which is original to my 2010 E, for a new one.

Wrong procedure. First, you are supposed to clean the lubricated surfaces using a dry cloth. Then you only apply a tiny amount of fresh lubricant to the respective surfaces, not a pound!

changin' that auxiliary battery ain’t no joke, especially if you got big hands like me. It ain’t a quick grab-n-go, gotta slide underneath to get the thing out, But hey, once it’s done, it’s worth the hassle and you save a buck or two😊

Thanks for the video my auxiliary battery malfunction light just turned on and this video made me a little relieved it’s not such a big deal as I just finished paying Mercedes dealership over 6,000 .00 on ac blower fan,front end suspension bushings, oil filter housing leak,and front differential seal leak which has me stressing the #&@ out..👍
