The lap video doesn’t look like the driver pushed it to the edge due to the conditions, more like cautious and very gentle driving - with no curbs and driving the dry path rather than the optimal racing lines. I always wonder why they officially publish compromised results instead of waiting for better conditions - no one would suffer if they wait till next spring.

I remember people said the car was a failure. On paper, its 0-200km/h is nothing to impress compared to Rimac, Bugatti, and Koenigsegg. I knew this car is all about the track, it's an F1 car derived after all! Btw 918 only max out at 300km/h with no juice in the battery 😂. This easily 336km/h, that's MGU-K & MGU-H guys! Not the ordinary hybrid

Don't know what others say, I have specific reasons to call this car a failure. Of course it's not a failure, it just couldn't convince me, by looking like anything than a more independent Mercedes, a bad sound design, high budget which means high price and too much HP. I'll be honest, I like SuperSports Cars more than Hypercars, but from all the Hypercar manufacturers I still find the one or other who wins me. Lamborghini Aventador SV-J, Ferrari LaFerrari, Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra, Porsche 918 Sypder... Alright, it's the fastest Street car on the ring now, congratulations for that Mercedes. Good job, still I don't think it's the greatest car you've ever built just because it's the fastest now. I mean, Porsche has made it with a SuperSports Car to stay the fastest Car on the ring for almost two years. Only 300 HP less, and it's not even 10 seconds away. This is just my opinion, don't take it too serious please.

I’d love to see the battery level. The efficiency with the hybrid system is so insane, they have to dump electric torque into the gear changes, that’s why the gear changes are so slow but the car loses no acceleration.

lets just say a 12-13sec gap in ideal conditions: for a power difference of over 300hp, awd, some f1 tech and the aero it has i think the gap should be bigger. look at the gap between gt3rs mr and gt2rs mr, those ~200hp difference make up around the same time. the car definitely has its flaws with weight and also shift times, so not really that outstanding after all - for the amount it costs and what its supposed to be

Great Time! But gearbox seems to be slow in Upshifts compared to other Supercars and wheel travel is not enough in some corners. I think it could be faster with some work in detail

And I still figure out why people prefer the Valkyrie over this, the AMG ONE has friggin F1 engine that was in an actual race, that on its own makes so special, when Mercedes dominated the hybrid era and was driven by the greatest in the sport, has the most advanced suspension and aerodynamics, in the world where V12s are dead and useless, I mean just just for the noise? That car is then for older people that say ohhh vintage naturally aspirated F1 cars is like a race car should sound, I heard and saw the F1 V10 live on the F1 experience dual seat car, it passed me by and wasn’t even bothered, I do love the turbo 6 form the actual era. PS Valkyrie just looks like a duck

Indeed, when the team took the start, the Nordschleife still had many wet sections, including the ideal lines in some places. When conditions finally improved, Mercedes-AMG had less than an hour left to clear the track. The pilot, Maro Engel, was only able to do four laps at full speed to hope to drop a time. Sorry, but I am not impressed. The car ran out of electricity several times, most notably on Dottinger. And the speed of shifting is terrible. The time is nice considering conditions, but those are never perfect on the Ring. And much more simple GT2 RS Manthey was like 3 seconds down? Good, but not impressive.

Yeah I was wondering that as well. I assumed the shifts would be lightning fast and almost seamless but it sounds almost as slow as an old automated manual in a Aventador or something. Really odd. Still an awesome car and run though. --------- Just did some Googling, apparently it is an automated manual, rather than a dual-clutch. And they’ve probably had to increase the engine flywheel mass quite a lot to get it to idle at ~ 1300rpm, so that might slow the shifts down a bit… seems like a weird choice to me, but I’m not an AMG engineer. 🤷🏼‍♂️

加速の良さ以外速そうに見えないのに、めちゃくちゃ速い！路面がけっこう湿っているように見える。それでか１コーナーなど全然突っ込めてないのにこのタイムはやばい。理想的なコンディションだとあと５秒は縮められるって聞いたけど１０－１５秒早くなってもおかしくなさそう。もし車重が1300ｋｇくらいに収められてたらどんだけ速かったんだろう。

If anything, this makes the recent lap by the GT3 RS look even more impressive as it has half the power and its only just over 10 seconds slower. Is it me or are these Ring laps now becoming more than pointless?

GT3 RS : 6.49 on the 20.8km ver. and 6.44 on the 20.6 layout AMG ONE : 6.35 on the 20.8km ver and approx 6.32 on the 20.6km layout A 14s difference is immense, this just shows us the gap between a supercar and a hypercar - it’s not even close.

Track conditions made it difficult. You can see that they couldnt go all out. Lots of coasting. Sub 6.30 if not a 6.20 is definetly possible with dry track and more agressive style. Tho youd have to comvinve the higher ups to let the driver go all out.

Don't know what others say, I have specific reasons to call this car a failure. Of course it's not a failure, it just couldn't convince me, by looking like anything than a more independent Mercedes, a bad sound design, high budget which means high price and too much HP. I'll be honest, I like SuperSports Cars more than Hypercars, but from all the Hypercar manufacturers I still find the one or other who wins me. Lamborghini Aventador SV-J, Ferrari LaFerrari, Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Huayra, Porsche 918 Sypder... Alright, it's the fastest Street car on the ring now, congratulations for that Mercedes. Good job, still I don't think it's the greatest car you've ever built just because it's the fastest now. I mean, Porsche has made it with a SuperSports Car to stay the fastest Car on the ring for almost two years. Only 300 HP less, and it's not even 10 seconds away. I would like to emphasize once again that this is only my opinion of this car. I'm not saying that my opinion is the only one, but try to think about the arguments and try to convince me otherwise. This is real discussion material :)
