I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Layton during the last election. It was after he had finished speaking and taking questions at a town hall meeting style rally in Thunder Bay. It was only for a couple of minutes, but he seemed like a really nice man. I was going to be starting a new college course within a few months, so he wished me the best of luck in my studies. I believe that he would have destroyed Harper in Parliament had he lived long enough for the opening of parliament. RIP, Jack.

I met him in April 2011. Told him there was *one* Harper program I approved of -- fostering orphaned kittens in 24 Sussex -- and wanted to know if an NDP government would continue with that. He said "Olivia does love cats, but first we'll have to make sure we have enough MPs." G'bye, Jack. Best Prime Minister this country never had.

I miss Jack's presence. He was amazing. There's a bigger issue with strayed cats across the country. Cats multiply every year in millions, and many birds become extinct because of that. Cornwall, ON, is a good example. The Federal Government must invest millions, if not, billions of dollars into programs to neuter/spay all strayed female cats, so we can save the birds.

Its staggering to see how far the NDP fell after Layton passed away. Almost like he carried the hopes of the party.

Tbf, Mulcair did deliver the second best performance of the NDP in history. It just so happened that he had the enormous expectations of Layton to live up to.

And he would have without a doubt in my heart and soul, been sworn in as our next PM had cancer not taken him, what a shame and loss.

Such a friendly, easy going guy. I love how Rick is able to get politicians to relax around him, get them to laugh and simply be themselves. It has always helped remind me that these men and women are people first before they're politicians. And Jack was a great guy. He'll be missed.

With Mulcair as leader, the NDP was running at 40% during the 2015 campaign and would have won if the niqab issue hadn't erupted. Either Mulcair or Layton would have done a much better job as prime minister, compared to Trudeau.
