I'm with Andrei, he is the best. Absolutely the best. I like how Andrei can't understand how someone cannot appreciate Tupac's work. I also love the conviction he has when he says that Tupac is the best.

9:23 I love it when people call Pac genius, because it is true. He was an artistic, creative, and lyrical genius. So cool to hear Dominika say this only after listening to her 3rd Tupac song. Is it that obvious? I guess so. The other amazing thing is how fast and effortlessly he would write. The sheer volume of work that he left should be a testament to that. But I've also heard from people that actually did work with him.

Andrei and ma'am you doing a great job bringing Tupac Shakur to this generation born after 1996...we need to know Tupac Shakur and take to every generation unborn yet ...this song makes me emotional my mother was 16 when she was pregnant with me in January or February 1979. I was born on 15 October 1979 my mother had just turned 17 years 4 weeks and a few days earlier...this Tupac Shakur is otherworldly

While some of his lyrics and poetry have been studied and analyzed in academic settings, it is not commonly taught in schools or universities as a part of the curriculum. However, some universities have offered courses that include the study of hip hop culture and music, which may include the works of 2Pac as well as other influential hip hop artists. Additionally, some professors and scholars have written academic papers and books on 2Pac's poetry and lyrics.

He was definitely talking about himself in this song. I firmly believe Pac is still alive. He's a genius, well-read, and self-educated. He used a lot of pragmatics in his music. Pragmatic is a study in linguistics that studies what the speaker says as opposed to what the listener infers. This is one of the songs that give much evidence of him being alive. He says "Will she remain in the same spot, the gunshots rang, they came from the caine spot, (caine spot referring to cocaine the color white as in THE WHITE CADILLAC). NOW LOOK HERE, I see her clutching her son in her arms she's hurt, her heart bleed, now she watch her seed die in the dirt. FULFILL PROPHESY." He was talking in first person, about himself. He was referring to his mom while he was in the hospital DYING. Remember in the interview he gave while he was in prison he said that his death was a prophecy. That's why he says "Fulfill prophecy." In this song, he also says "I watched the drama occur, my eyes blurred before I jetted. I wonder why we all have to die before we get it." Also referring to himself as a first-person verb including himself in the action of jetting which means leave from a place. Like he left the United States. He also says "WE" which a first-person pronoun that he uses to include himself in the action of dying. In the end, he also says "And these are MY damaged pedals." Referring to his gunshots wounds. PAC IS ALIVE.

14:20 Tupac touching everybody is true, if given a chance. Tupac has something for everybody. By that I mean that you could be the most savage street criminal, and Tupac has something that you will connect with. You could be a church-going college professor and Tupac has stuff that you can connect with. Male/female, old/young, easy/hard life, professional/non-professional, educated/uneducated, etc. He creates on such an emotional level, and has such a variety of topics, that the potential to connect is huge. That's why it's been 26 years since he died, and his work still lives on, as strong as ever.

If you don't listen to this song with the perspective that he's still alive, and that this was written after Vegas, you'll never understand it. "The gunshots rang, they came from the caine spot." He's talking about himself getting shot in Vegas.

With Dominika in mind, I would like to suggest UNTIL THE END OF TIME or LETTER TO MY UNBORN for a future Tupac reaction. There are 3 versions that I know about. The one you reacted to was the album version, which I love, but these are also good, and worth listening to. Smooth jazzy version mashed with a Sade song called Jezebel kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6vaq41_j62LsM0 The original recording produced by Johnny J kzbin.info/www/bejne/np2Zp6aEqphqY7s

Tupac is a phenomenon, but you have to go past his music to better understand the man, and his story, and complexity. To fully appreciate him you have to watch the documentaries, listen to the interviews, read his poems, learn about the Black Panther Party, learn about his mom and his upbringing, etc. Once you learn those things, it helps put his music and message into perspective. It becomes more clear what's autobiographical, and what's not. What's the stuff that he lived, vs what he's seen others live, etc.
