I was at an Aurora concert way back in 2016 at Cambridge Junction UK. I was lucky and had a front row standing position right in front of Aurora performing. There was a moment during one of her songs where I closed my eyes and let the lyrics wash over me. After the show I stayed around and managed to meet and get Auroras autograph. The first thing she said to me was "I noticed your eyes were closed during that number", with all that was going on he she noticed one person in the audience chilling out to her lyrics. I remember her saying that to me to this day. I've been a fan of hers ever since.

We wouldn't be crying if this song did not touch a similar deeply impressed (and perhaps suppressed) experience of our own. I think she may be talking about her sister with bi-polar disorder. The mother of my best friend from years ago had that disorder. It's very tough on the whole family. Whatever Aurora sings about completely draws out that vibration in us, even if it is so deeply hidden we had forgotten. And, somehow, the river of tears that follow cleanse us...even if we never do remember what it was. Something in us remembers and responds. (Or we know very well, and the memory breaks us, but also tenderly honors the trauma). And it's such a challenging and also a crucial thing to learn that we can't "fix" someone else, any more than someone else can "fix" us. But the longing to ease the pain of someone we love - woah - that is so strong! It's very sweet how she calms the audience at the end of the song. I'm sure most of the people were sobbing and in need of being soothed.

I saw her live in November and she played this song. She always does a fun little speech before the song in an attempt to make the song not so sad. It was the most beautiful show I've ever been to. I can see that Aurora's speech struck a chord for the wife (I'm so sorry, I don't know your names). It's unusual, because it's usually the husband who gets emotional. It's beautiful and unexpected to see such vulnerability. Both in Aurora, and both of you.

It must take tremendous strength to power through this very vulnerable piece of music. To relive the dark time this song was born from must reopen that wound inside her. I empathize with her or anyone who can confront their pain and commend her for her bravery. Just a beautiful song that effects anyone that has travelled that rocky road.

This is how she closed out the concert I saw in Manchester last year. Tears all around and a feeling of joy and peace that lasted for days. Her "talks" are a joy, a keen mind with a Nordic lack of inhibition. I had about 10 minutes of her time three years ago. She is very intelligent with a broad general knowledge. An observer, she saw beauty where I had walked past hundreds of times. Also, she is a listener, in an intense way that is very rare. Thanks for expressing the love that flowed between you two.

All Aurora fans have probably cried several times to her songs, sometimes not even because it is sad, but just because how beautiful her voice is, specially when you are there live. I have cried at least once in every concert of hers I have been to. Even Aurora herself cried during or after Invisible Wounds several times, at least in London in June and at the final US concert in Philadelphia in December.

You had a perfectly normal reaction to the song, don't apologize❤️ Last summer I was going to see her at the Malakof festival, about 550km drive from where I live. I was listening to the WHTTH album while passing through the mountains of Norway. When "Invisible wounds " started it was like a bubble popped inside me. All my hidden feelings just poured out. I almost had to stop driving because of tears. Something hit deep. But this is what AURORA does for me, cleaning out all my hidden bad and dangerous thoughts.❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hope to meet you at a AURORA concert in the future❤️

i think the reason she CAN be so light hearted and silly is that she doesn’t bottle anything up. she’ll live a long life because she doesn’t torture herself with shame and guilt. she’s a powerful example for feeling things deeply and expressing yourself! the wisdom in her 28 year old mind/body is honestly staggering!

Yes. It is kind of terrifying to grow up and realise, that like half of the people around you have some kind of mental problems. And you thought your whole life everybody is so freaking ok. But they were not, there was only no talking about it. There is more watching movies in our world than talking about ourselves.

Not that Aurora wants you to cry but she does want you to connect with your deepest feelings on this subject. She wants us not to fear these emotions but to become friends with them and let them flow from us and let us all see that we are the same. It's an unfortunate part of our world today that people want to suppress their feelings and avoid crying etcetera. While I can completely understand the feeling, never feel the need to apologize for being authentic and embracing your true self. Great reaction. ❤

I think the "shadowlands" is just a place of hurt where people hide out and hide their feelings until they face those feelings and move on. But some people struggle to face those feelings and get stuck in the "shadowlands" also known as depression but i think calling it the shadowlands paints a more accurate picture of what it is.
