Jeff Healy does a fantastic song with Stevie Ray Vaughn, which you would love. The piano player is the great New Orleans musician Doctor John. Thank you for all the hard work bringing many diverse genres of music to your program. Love your commentary, too.

Jeff was an amazing guitar player. He was one of the best blues/rock guitar players. It’s a shame that he’s no longer with us but thankfully he left us a library of truly incredible music. I have watched many reactors over the years, but I have to say you two are the most fun to watch. You can see the pure joy on your faces when you’re discovering new music. I was fortunate enough to be born in the 60s and grow up through the 70s and 80s with some truly incredible music. And nothing gives me greater pleasure to see younger people like yourself making sure that the great music lives on. Bravo on another great reaction.👏👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Your enthusiasm for Jeff's playing was wonderful to watch. Jeff was a supremely talented guitarist, and who knows what he might have achieved had he lived longer. That video was also remarkable for the quality of the musicians backing Jeff. Marcus Miller on the bass and Omar Hakim on drums, adds up to the finest rhythm section on the planet, plus the legendary Dr.John on Piano, one of New Orleans finest artists.

Wow incredible, I'm with you guys. I had not heard of him until through your channel so thank you, I'll have to check out more of his music. I noticed in some of the comments below saying that he had passed which gave me a lump in my throat. So I did some research and yeah he passed away from a rare cancer at the young age of only 41, it took his sight at an early age which I noticed in this video that something wasn't right. Very sorry to see him go so early, that's nor fair to anyone😟

Discovered by SRV and Albert Collins when they went to a juke joint called Albert' Hall in Toronto. Him and SRV became great friends. Had the chance to see Jeff many times in the '80's and '90's. He could hold his own against any guitarist, and could play licks nobody else could touch due to his playing style😊

Jeff is great. The way he plays guitar on his lap is actually common in the in country, bluegrass and blues music using a guitar or 'resonator' guitar (frequently called a Dobro, which is a famous brand.). The steel guitar is played similarly but it has it's own stand so is not held in the lap. I lived in Memphis for a couple of years and we would get together and jam with a guy who played a Dobro. It can be played on your lap or as a guitar.

GREAT reaction!! Jeff Healey (RIP) is revered here in Canada (especially in Ontario as he is from Toronto), and his playing is no joke! My wife and I saw him live in 1999, and it was a wonderful night of blues rock! His cover of Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love was a superb highlight, as well as this song. HIGHLY recommend checking: Angel Eyes (nice ballad), How Long Can A Man Be Strong, and an amazing cover of The Beatles While My Guitar Gently Weeps. He will be missed.

Jeff Healey proved he could do anything. I read a book about Jeff and he was even able to drive the tour bus, while they were touring, with the direction of the bus driver. "A little to the left, a little to the right" type of direction. Hahaha. Jeff is one of the best guitarist in the world, in my eyes. He was an amazing man! He is sorely missed. RIP Jeff.

One of the highest compliments you can pay a guitarist is to call his work "incendiary." If this isn't on fire, I don't know what would be. I had the distinct honor of seeing Jeff live twice, and it is such a sad shame how young he was taken from us - just like his patron, Stevie Ray Vaughan. I can hardly get through this performance without weeping at his loss. What a singular talent.

I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction(s) to this unquestionably unique musician. 🤗 I personally had the incredible fortune to experience him performing live, up close, over several nights near the start of his legendary career, and I'd never even heard of him an hour before he touched the guitar on that memorable first evening! Mid/late '80s, Victoria BC, early evening on a warm summer Thursday: Me and some of the boys headed out to a local meat market / pick up bar that usually had a DJ. (🤭 Hey, I was young, well, late 20s, and there would likely be pretty girls there! 😂). When we arrived, we were perplexed to discover there was a lineup to get in, with posters advertising a live performer (not usual) debuting that night, with praises by the likes of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. So, what the hell, we waited in line. Once we got in we sat at a table right by the dance floor, about 15 feet from a two foot raised stage. After ordering our beer, the band came out, obviously guiding a blind guy. My buddies and I kinda looked at each other quizzically. 🤔 They sat him down in a chair onstage, handed him an electric guitar, which he placed on his lap 😯 ... then, when they started to play ... my world changed ... forever. It was Jeff Healey and his band, before their first album came out: I had never heard of him/them before, but he, specifically, had my attention now. He proceeded to play the cleanest, most amazing, unbelievable guitar licks I'd ever heard. He played blues, he played rock, he played country, he even played a bit of what sounded like flamenco. He played Hendrix better than Hendrix, he played with his teeth, he played while literally jumping around blind like a mad man. He seemed to be having a religious experience onstage. Despite it being a dance club, NOBODY danced that night. Every person, patrons and staff alike, stood around, hypnotized, with their mouths agape, staring, hardly believing what they were seeing and hearing. I went back Friday and Saturday, and again three nights the following week, as they were playing a two week gig there. Their first album came out shortly thereafter, and then he was in a movie with Patrick Swayze, and then ... well, I sadly never got to see Jeff Healey perform live again. But I still feel blessed, and I shall never forget how amazing the experience was that first night I saw him play! 😊
