Aren't you suppose to change them every year? I know I suppose to change it on my volvo penta 5.0L every year, good thing it is on the front of the engine inside the boat, much much easier.

Mine said every 300 hours or if you have been using the boat in sandy or dirty water. I just noticed the stream seemed a little weak and thought that I would go ahead and do it early. I have 250 hours on the motor, so it wasn’t really too far off.

I replace the impeller every 6 years, no problem. Manual says 3 years, but that is total overkill. Inboard impellers should be inspected or replaced more often.
