This is the best perspective of where the blend door actuator is of any video I've ever seen.

This was the best video out of all of them. Pulling the dash 3" away from the door frame is what did the trick
@captainfalken1278 Жыл бұрын
All the years I worked at ford doing these, I found it 10x faster to remove entire dash in about 35 to 40 minutes and literally replace all doors all at once. Customers always thanked me for, and always regretted when the didn’t take my advice. If your comming in with a heater core leak, might as well replace all doors while we are in there
@remiremillard8419 Жыл бұрын
what do you mean all the doors? isnt there only one of these modules per car?
@captainfalken1278 Жыл бұрын
@@remiremillard8419 there’s a blend door for temperatures, there is a blend door for defrost to vent, and I believe one more for floor to vent. They are same part just controls different parts of evap case.

My vent to defrost actuator is on it’s way out. After seeing this shit show I’m just gonna warm her up with the remote start and deal with a weak defroster. Great video!👍🏼

If you do replace the vent to defrost actuator please make a video and post it. Mines going out too. Thanks

Question for the 08 grand marquis lovers. My AC went out; I changed the blend door actuator & main control module. When I change the settings you can hear a click.. but no AC, no heat or cool. Almost like the blower motor isn’t going on. Any ideas? Any fuses to check? Again.. lol. I am getting error code 25 in the dash.
@travishoward40063 жыл бұрын
When the ac is running make sure the compressor is running and the lines our cold if they are then the blend door is not moving to the flapper to allow the air to run over the evaporator which the cold air comes from, I'm pretty sure code 25 in the blend door code. You'll have to pull the dash back and remove the blend door motor. You can also access it by pulling the radio and cutting an access door in the firewall and reach back in there and pull it out. If not the only way to get it out is like I show in the video, if it's sort a continuing clicking when running the temperature up and down that what it is

I need some advice, please. I have a 2004 Grand Marquis with automatic temperature controls. My problem is that cold A/C blows out not only where it should, but also on my feet as well. NOTE: There is no clacking or other noise that would indicate a defective actuator. What else could be the problem? They door itself? Is there only ONE blend door? If there are more than one, where are they located?
@jeffsloane8628 Жыл бұрын
It is probably the control unit. There is a video on youtube where a guy shows how to do the self diagnostic of your current unit and Dorman makes a replacement.

@@jeffsloane8628Thanks. I replaced the seals in the existing one, but it didn't help.

I gave up. i just rigged it so the ac stays on when i want and i can make it so the heater stays on if i want

night hawk Diaz How did you do that without removing the actautor?
@sunnyvale40884 жыл бұрын
@@RodknockRhett i couldn't get any of the back bolts out so i took out the one that's easy to reach and i used a 12 inch flat head to kinda crowbar the blendoor up off the little metal thing that controls the door. From there i got a pool noodle and cut a piece that would hold it open for the ac to work .when it gets cold i just take out the piece of pool noodle and it'll go back to heat on its own. I left my airbag out for easy access but i only leave it out because my girl rides in the back with the baby so i never really have anyone shotgunning.

night hawk Diaz Well I did actually buy one thinking the repair was going to be easy. I used a universal flex to get the one to the left after pulling the dashboard slightly by removing to bolts. The one closest to the firewall on the right I got out with a tiny 8mm wrench. Then I used a small ratchet for the front most one. The back one, I just struggled trying to break it off. Finally, I grabbed a car jack crow bar looking handle and jammed it underneath and pried steadily. I heard all kinds of noises of something breaking and POP. The old actuator came flying out. I set the new one in and the two front screws and plugged it in. Ice cold AC and hot heat. Now I just have to put it all back in. night hawk Diaz Well I did actually buy one thinking the repair was going to be easy. Now I just have to put it all back together. If you do ever want to replace your's, there are two bolts on top of the dashboard underneath the trim. Then there is on right at the top of the kick panel by the door. Take these 3 out and the entire dash can be pulled out by 2 inches. Wedge a 2x4 in there. Those extra two inches made it way easier.
