This is part 2 in my quest to repair the trim motor on my 50hp ELPTO Mercury 2 stroke outboard motor.

Enjoyed this, thank you. I understand my trim/tilt system a lot better now. A lot of people on You Tube pretend they know everything and everything always goes perfectly. (If it doesn't they edit it out....) Your video was 100% genuine and I like how you pointed out all your "real world" decisions. Refreshing.

I replaced my tilt/trim motor with a new one & when i press the trim button it just makes the noise as if was working but motor doesnt move up or down.The solenoids or relays inside the main motor click when i press the trim button but doesnt trim up or down battery is fine also. Any idea what is wrong? Thanx & great & informative videos!

So what was the outcome of this? Did you torque the bolts correctly ?

I still have the boat and its still running strong! No, I did not torque to spec.

What kind of paint is it?

Not exactly sure. It was used/painted when I got it from the dealer. Whatever it is, it was heavy duty and very thick!

Should of filled it from bottom up

If I remember correctly, mine still seemed pretty full, so it was like I was topping it off. But not sure what the correct procedure is for filling completely.
