Good vid Pal...i also have fished Mere Lane many times...yes its only 6 anglers on at Night but day anglers can also rock up (for the day) the owners Husband n Wife are excellent to talk too...Percy (the sturgeon) is the 1 too catch...ive always fished the 2 middle pegs facing the islands and never blanked...just be careful of the 20ft hole smack bang in the middle...the 4 corners of gravel bars are good pegs also.

Thanks , yes your right there mate , some good input there, some little cheaky spots were the fish hold up on there, with it not being a large lake , you can map it all out and get a nice picture of the bottom bed of the lake, and get to know the carps daily activity, feeding , cruising , holding up etc, then place your trap out!! , ps , had percy out 3 times in 24 hours in February, and 4 more times in April, tight lines ,

@@jenkospecimenhunter2199 ive only had em to 17lb in there...cant beat the 20lb barrier from were ever i go...never caught percy...had him on once but straightened my hook out (shite Fox hooks)...gone to Nash Claw now...🎣🎣

@@paulhigham6047 good plan of attack mate, they are good reliable hooks, but I use garnder gt hd 15lb line and there mugga hooks too, make sure them knots are all 5 turn grinner knots, on your rig , and knotless knot on the hook, if your fishing the bottom or grinner knot if you fish the ronnie,

Your 20lb will come mate , just keep at it, and the rewards will follow, patience and perseverance are the key to catching big carp, I think theres bout 10 20lbers at mere ,what I know of, I had 3 of them last year

@@lewis_kennedy4224 keep the baiting , to a minimum, even just a pva bag, the water is still warming up , so make sure everything is gluged in liquids , for maximum attraction, keep it all soaking weeks before you go👌👍

too many pegs for the lake size when theres a few on your all sat on each other, they do it for more money but its not fair on the carpers, they should remove a few pegs, would be nice then

Yes , thats a good a point , what you should do is let the owners know , then they know , the situation, and how poeple feel, max of 6 poeple I think on there at each given time I think, then theres enough space to fish freely without the hassle of other lines near your swim, still tho you cant knock the quality of stock they have in there, tight lines bud
