So awesome to see this. I was there in April last year during all the construction and still visited many of these establishments (dust and all) . What an attractive avenue for all the people of Merida to enjoy.

Absolutely! The dust was a lot,...and so worth it. Such a peaceful place to walk now. Will you come back and experience the completion?!

My family enjoyed 130 Grados Steakhouse curing the construction phase I think December 2021. They serve Tomahawk steak and cook it at the table using a heated slab of salt. You can order a large steak for at least 3 people. Their menu isn't online at the moment so I can't remember which sides we had BUT their sides are quite stellar.

I'm glad you liked it! I'm not a big steak guy, so I'm glad someone, you, can speak to their quality :)

I was there Wed night ( late Jan) around 8 and it was quiet. Many locations closed. Expensive. Geared to tourists. Lots of high-priced choices but only so many well-heeled patrons.

Yeah, January is great weather for being out in Merida, but I think everyone was tired from the MONTHS of holiday partying haha.

Excellent video. We are returning to Merida on Thursday and cannot wait to see the completed Calle 47 for ourselves. I really have enjoyed your other videos and will be sharing them with friends who are interested in coming to Merida. You do an excellent job of talking about the history of the locations which is lacking in so many other videos. Our new place is on the east side of LaPlancha. I know the park is not officially open yet but are they allowing people to use the portion south of Calle 43?

Thank you Roy! Appreciate the love. There are signs up saying do not pass, but people pass through all the time, especially families on their way to school in the morning.

I do not, but a good idea! First official trip is scheduled for Dec. 19 with AMLO on it. I'll have a video about connecting La Plancha to the Teya station via shuttle, but it is still not open yet.

Just got back from Merida today. The street was a huge disappointment. Construction looks the same from when this video was recorded. Most of the restaurants were closed. Unfortunately, this city is only worth a day or two at most as far as things to do.
@mtchllknx11 ай бұрын
Sorry you didn't like your experience, @pgarciaAP! I hear you about only needing a few days to visit. It helps to know a local who can show you the secret spots :) Let us know next time you're in town! If you're looking for a bajillion day trips, tho, with a cozy, loving, history and culture filled downtown vibe, we think Merida is the spot!
