We're smack in the middle of the state, inland from Daytona and Irma rolled through at IIRC a CAT 2 and did significant damage. That woke people up and it seems more are taking this seriously. Yesterday I counted 14 to 15 out of area power company rigs on a surface street near me. Was strange as being from out of the area, I can only assume they left US 75 and might have been heading to our county EOC for staging in preparation to post Dorian.

Great information and explanation Levi..I live in Panama City, Florida. We faced the CATASTROPHIC "Michael" CAT 5 last October..It was, and is, and will be for years, the most difficult natural disaster our town and surrounding towns have faced thus far.. Our community and surrounding communities have not recovered. It will be years.. We just NOW got our insurance settlement and can finally put on a new roof, replace windows, rebuild our front porch, etc.. It was and is a devastating thing to have a CAT 4, or 5 hit you.. Living in the immediate aftermath was insane..like a bomb went off in every direction..debris everywhere, 12 ft high along the roads and neighborhood streets once cleanup operations began 3 weeks later.. For 4 months you could only see debris fields out every window.. Millions of trees in the county..gone..half the homes gone.. Tons and tons of debris, demolished properties, belongings, etc... had to be removed truckloads at a time..that was a monumental task.. Breathing was hard for many of us.. as air quality was poor..due to mold, demolition, ..and still is a constant health issue, due to all the teardown and construction all around on a mass scale. But we got through it all and will get through...with the help of Almighty God..my Heavenly Father. He provided many miraculous ways for our family and our neighbors who lost everything/homes/ businesses..to remain positive and hopeful. We had our lives and that's all that mattered! May God's protection be with all our fellow Floridians, and may prayers go up to Heaven for "those survivors" on the islands this storm just destroyed.. And a friendly reminder..Jesus loves you and me.. Call upon Him in times of trouble..He will hear and help you..He is the ROCK on which I stand..He will be your Rock too.

levi- wow,,,, you thoroughly explained the differences in the hwrf, euro, and gfs. i would "think", per your explanation, the hwrf is the one to follow,, more precise as in picking up the heights of the walls and eye along with the lower wind flows that correlate. the other two are not picking up or considering those incremental factors that could make all the difference as to the direction. also, do we know how strong the warm gulf stream is? could it be stronger than the up churning of the colder waters? if so, then the hurricane might keep it's strength. i know the computer predicts the high ridge to weaken, but we still don't know how much it will weaken and the timing, that is the most crucial thing, that is just a wait and find out situation. thanks levi for your wonderful video's. you the man. i like how you are very specific and quick to the point while sticking to the subject at hand. thanks again.
