A few chuckles, jokes and hardy laughs between friends is balm to the soul. Fly on legends. A hundred years from now new folks will be learning about Toby and Merle. Legends never die. It just hit me that these two iconic legends are gone to Heaven. My heart hurts more than I can bear. Toby truly loved Merle and offered a lot of loving support to him in his ending days. Toby was kind of like his son. I loved seeing Toby’s smiles and how happy he was just picking around with his friend. Man do I miss him and love him so much. He was so kind and loving and truly humble and cared about everyone. See you soon again in Heaven my beautiful friend and angel

the whole competition between "old country" and "new country" is mostly in the fan's imagination. Merle has said that he supports today's country artists, Waylon liked them too.
