Beautiful song. I remember seeing him in this time period. He almost acted like he had given up. He had a passion for America and the dream of being free.. He worked hard to get himself up from the bottom and like everyone else, they were taking it as fast as he could dream about it

Sometimes I wish there was a like AND not like option. Never been a Haggard can. I often like his songs but I've always had a wrong feeling when in can see his life performances. To me, he has a very cold and angry air about him and no warmth in his eyes. I don't know. Just rather chills me....but that man had a voice like warm honey.
