I miss him a lot Wesley. I'm 5 years your junior, and was raised on his music and other Country Music greats. I had a chance to meet him once in East Stroudsburg PA his bus was parked in the Walmart parking lot he had played in Jim Thorpe PA the night before. It was early and the bus was still and quiet so I let them sleep. I'm sure Merle would've appreciated my being considerate in that way. I have to listen to his music everyday it's good for the soul.

I grew up in Bakersfield and in early 60's and there was a live show on for 45 minutes every afternoon hosted by Cousin Herb Henson. It featured Merl, Buck , Bonnie and all the local country singers. Plus they had guests on from around the country. I remember seeing Barbara Mandrel when she was just a teenager. Just 45 minutes of jamming every afternoon. We knew it was something special. If only there were recordings of the show but I'm not aware of any. Just my memories.
