Ok, I have a skin condition that makes my face red and full of acne. Recently I started a new treatment and I am very self-aware of the way I look because I hate my red face. So, to hear Merle saying that my skin is glowing (even though she has no idea who I am or what condition I might have) put a huge smile on my face. Thanks for the kindness, Girl. =)

Plantbasedrd is known as the sauce queen in our house. We lean vegetarian in our house mainly because I don't feel comfortable cooking meat. I reference her recipes all the time and substitute ingredients (i.e. sour cream instead of vegan yogurt) and it's amazing every time. I would definitely like to genuinely follow her recipes for the nutrients.

I have always eaten meat but as I've matured I feel I've become a lot more environmentally and cruelty conscious. While I'm not vegan, I really do appreciate your content (along with people like Sauce Stache and Derek Sarno), as it makes it a lot easier for me to be plant based at least a few nights a week. Thanks from Australia!

OMG the heirloom tomatoes were stunning! Actually, the visuals on all these recipes are just gorgeous. And yeah, I bought asparagus this morning and it looks nothing like yours. Mine looks like the poor relations to your affluent asparagus. Thanks for the nod to Plantbasedrd ... I'm heading there to subscribe now.

That was great Merle! It's a fairly full day of cooking so meal prep would be a big advantage. It would even be a busy day cooking and blending on a weekend by the looks of it. Still, it all looks wonderful. I guess it's the cue to suggest doing a day of Dietition Nisha Melvani who's Cooking for Peanuts site has some recipes I'm pretty sure you'll love if you haven't already encountered her. She has also just put out a cookbook with a food for longevity theme. She's really up on the latest research (more protein for women) and isn't much of a self promoter, but, I think she's up-ed what she does on her site since her kids are older. I really like that life balance in action. Also, it's about the food not her kids, husband, house/lifestyle, etc. And her food is really fantastic! Edit to add: Merle I really appreciate your sponsor. I'm in Australia so we have differentt brands available, but I've done the transition from the plastic covered coloured dishwasher and washing machine cleaning thingos. We had the best known brand called Finish in our house and I've always found a strong chemical smell when I open the dishwasher. It's not so strong in the washing machine but I've happily transitioned from plastic packaged products and find the new ones to be excellent. Mine are sheets, mainly made of coconut shells. No more plastic in a small cardboard box. There's none of that strong chemical smell. A marine science student recently told me by 2060 there will be more plastic in the water than fish and that we should wash plastic food containers and food processor bits, blender bits, etc. to prevent micro plastic entering the water chain. In other words we shouldn't wash plastic in the dishwasher. Our sewerage/waste water here in Sydney ends up in the Pacific and we're encouraged not to contribute to the fatbergs via foods, beauty products etc. Imagine what changes the next 3 generations will be making 😮

Plantbasedrd 's recipes call for seemingly countless ingredients and that's what made me search elsewhere. To make a simple sandwich you need like 20 ingredients! Maybe for a special occasion I could do it, but daily? heck no. There are so many creators out there with so much more down to earth recipes and approach.

Funny because here in France it's the opposite. Nutritionists are doctors who know about nutrition and can also prescribe medications but dieticians are just here to give you advice, everybody can be a dietician if you can afford it

the cauliflower wrap is tight. it was the recipe that made me go out and get chipotles in adobo sauce. and I make variations of the sauce all the time. one thing I will add is that since you already opened a can of chickies, you have aquafaba right there otherwise running down the drain, make a quicky mayo with it to save some money. I dont know about america but in Sweden vegan mayo and yoghurt is expensive. I often just do full mayo + chipotles in adobo and garlic clove, makes more of a thicker spread, its fine

i just learned this myself a couple of days ago, but apparently, re-using parchment paper can be dangerous / is dangerous. They contain / can create PFAS when re-used? Because it's not just paper most of the time, but paper reinforced with plasticy stuff, if i understood correctly!
@leonstaalenhoef483819 күн бұрын
I'd love a source for this because as far as I and the internet are aware parchment paper is made of cellulose coated with silicone. there is not a single fluorine atom to be found in either of those. On top of that comes that PFAS is quite a hard chemical to make needing lots of energy so the idea that it would form after a second use in an oven is quite odd.

Anyway, love as always and will see you in the next one! Ciao for now!! ❤❤❤ P.S. is cilantro not the same as koriander? Or is that an American thing where it refers to a different thing? I may be dumb or just having a blonde moment, but I'm too lazy to Google, hahaha😅.

Don't be afraid of the plastic in detergent pods. They (PVA and its derivitives) are completely safe and actually used in the medical field quite a lot. A better reason not to use them is because 90% of the detergent pod pods are made by the same company. fuck monopolies.
