Draping a long skirt requires a very large amount of fabric. That can sometimes be a waste of resources. The above-the-knee silhouette of a mermaid skirt does not change regardless of the length of the skirt. This means that additional fabric should be added from below the knee to the hem to see the overall balance.

いつも勉強させていただいています。 質問なのですがこんなにボディにビタビタに作ってしまっては人間には着られないのでは？と思ってしまうのですがどうなのでしょうか？ それとも想定する人間+ゆとり＝このボディという設定なのでしょうか？その場合今度はウエストが緩くなってしまうのではないかなと思ったのですがいかがでしょうか？

コメントをありがとうございます。まずヒップ回りにはある程度ゆとりを入れてピン留めしています。そしてボディの両足がやや開いていることに注目してください。つまり膝周りではすでに歩行のための最低限のゆとりは確保されています。人が歩く時、膝上を拘束されていてもけっこう歩けるものです。ですからマーメードスカートの場合、タイトなアクセントをつける位置はかならず膝上にしなければなりません。私が使っているボディは限りなく裸体の寸法に作られています。ここにデザインにあわせた適量のゆとりを入れる必要がピン留めの時にあります。
