I think Atlantean could've done it if they nibbed before they made chaos angel, it seemed like a pretty obvious next play and getting Coral banished instead of guaranteeing it's in the grave with the add back was huge

The Atlantean player should have used Nibiru when Desirae was summoned to prevent the opponent from making Agumday and bringing Desirae back on their turn. The opponent was under Dimensional Barrier, so Engraver wasn’t doing anything with the Nibiru token. Also, Coral only adds back Marincess cards, except for itself so that wasn't really doing anything.

I think it's less about believing in the deck and more so hope your opponent doesn't know what your deck does. just like how plants do well. every time they do the pilot always says the same thing "my opponent didn't know what my cards did so I won". either way it's wild they bring that to a money match against a deck that can just summon abyss dweller to make your cards literally do nothing.

As a rogue deck enjoyer, it kinda depends? Like if you draw well it usually doesn't matter if your opponent plays perfectly or not, like rite plus white beard was basically always winning going first pre charmies/dom impulse, I've mapped out lines to beat basically every hand trap with the 2 card combo. The problem is that these decks tend to be inconsistent messes, so a lot of games end up being decided by the opponent misplaying into your field. But I think that's also true of tier 1 decks, just to a lesser extent. People downplay how much variance decides games for a winning run.

@shawnjavery 1) rite plus full plunder combo does not win against the recent meta decks. 2) that's not the same thing. Plunder has a very transparent gameplan that can be played around or stopped. While plants has like 4 different engines that try to do the full combo.

Not shuffling deck after returning Fiendsmith cards or Lurrie is definitely intentional depending on what the player wants to draw/not draw. But I don't blame the player for trying to win when there's money on the line. Its on the opponent for not catching it.

Mermail has a problem with big unaffected monsters their monsters cap out at 3000 so chaos angel is very problematic. I think the new xyz monster will help with that issue.
