Just got my MOABs this week and thought I'd just use them for hiking the badlands of Death Valley... but they are so comfortable, I'm using them as every day shoes in place of sneakers. My ankles feel infinitely better switching from nikes to these. So far, my favorite boot I've ever owned.

I picked up a pair of these about a month ago. Been on 2 hikes so far both around 8-10 miles and I’m happy so far. Very comfortable and breath well

I've been a Salomon guy for 20+ years so they're still my choice for everyday wear and trail usage. However, I use the MOAB Vent's as my Jeeping shoe. They offer plenty of grip when scrambling boulders and scouting lines. BTW, thanks for the Photon review. After picking out my gear for my upcoming TMB hike I realized my Ohm 2.0 was just overkill for what I was carrying. My wife also picked up a new Spark from Nomad Ventures which is the perfect size for her small frame. All of her stuff fit into it with room to spare so that helped seal the deal on the Photon.

Merrell makes really comfortable hiking shoes. My only gripe is that after a year or so the insoles get really flattened out, need to be replaced with a really quality pair of Superfeet insoles which are pricey, but worth it for protecting your feet. Good video 👍⛺🤠

Finding the right fit can be tough. The montrails were great before Columbia changed it up.

Can this shoe (moab 2 vent) be good for everyday wear to walk on asphalt to work, for 25-30 minutes a day and back? Would it be comfortable enough, and everything else? Not to mention staying in them for hours per day.

hello friend.... I have to buy on Amazon, No shoes stores where I live... The last 2 shoes I bought were Asics Venture6 size 8 and Altra Superior 3.0 size 8.5... What size should I order the Moab 2 Vent, size 8 or size 8.5 or size 9 ?

I find the shoes fit true to size. I wear a size 12 normally and a size 12 in the Merrell.

I bought a pair of waterproof Merrels last year from BPS and the soles came unglued in 3 months on both shoes. I'll never buy Merrel again

I have the Low vents in Merrell. just got them. Will be getting the mids. I sized up to a size bigger than my regular shoe. I width wider. . Does regugal width stretch out some. with out going a wider size.? I

Can you explain the gator you mentioned that attaches to the velcro? Does it go over the shoe to protect when it rains?

They go over the top to keep out sand and rocks. The Gaiters I use are made by Outdoor Research.

Have you crossed creeks with these shoes? Just curious about their dranage ability. Note: For water wadding I think drainage is very important . I myself don't mind whether the shose still wet but all water drained out.

I routinely have used these at work. Granted I do not have asphalt, but we have a cement floor with a thing layer of carpet there. They are comfortable all day long.
