Thank you for your video. Regarding 2:48, the Royal Mint’s 2025 gold proof sovereign shield design is based on Jean Baptiste Merlen’s 1825 rendition from King George IV's Coat of Arms which included in the center the inescutcheon representing the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany. On the other hand, comparing it to King Charles III’s own Coat of Arms reveals that there is no longer any representation of the Kingdom of Hanover, Germany, because it had long ago disappeared after 1837. Regarding 3:53, the Royal Mint’s 2024 Great Engraver’s Benedetto Pistrucci's Saint George and the Dragon border says “Honi soit qui mal y pense” which is the motto of The Order of the Garter founded by King Edward III in 1348. Its origin was from a court ball in Calais when the Countess of Salisbury’s garter accidentally slipped off her leg and fell to the ground. The courtiers who saw the mishap snickered instead of helping her to get her garter back. King Edward III was outraged at the courtiers’ unchivalrous behavior. He retrieved the garter and scolded them by saying, "Honi soit qui mal y pense!" which means “Shame on him who thinks ill of it!”. He then put the garter on his own leg. That is why Knights of the Order of the Garter wear their blue velvet and gold garter on their left leg above the knee. The same motto is also emblazoned on the Royal Coat of Arms.

What's your take on the 1 kilo 2024 Britannia and Liberty coin only having a mintage of 77?

@@ScottFrederick-jj4lu I've not seen those, have they just been released?
@ScottFrederick-jj4lu6 күн бұрын
@the_islandstacker I'm not sure exactly when it was released. This is the kilo released from the Royal mint with a 500 pound face value. Just wondering because of the low mintage and being a collaboration between the US and Britain if you think it should command a high premium?
