I have a technical question. Is there reason you are not closing your bobble stitch usually it is done with a YO draw up 3-4-5 loops then close with a slip stitch. I noticed you just going into your next stitch. I started and stopped to think if maybe the bobble will be too big after stuffing? Or why do you do it this way. It is a habit for me but if I need to overcome I will.

@elizabeth0478 Жыл бұрын
if i wanted to make it smaller could i just divide the amount of stitches in half? like instead of doing 6 around the magic ring doing 3
@merrymakes Жыл бұрын
I wish crochet math worked like that!!! If you go from 3st in R1 to 6st in R2, you won’t get a flat circular shape-you’d get a pointed cone shape. If you want to make it smaller, still use rounds of multiples of 6 to keep the top flat, so 6,12,18,24 but stop at either 12 or 18 instead of 24 and do the rest of the pickle body with bobbles wherever you’d like. 😊 Alternatively, you can do this entire pattern the same but use a smaller crochet hook and like size 3 sport weight yarn, so you’ll have a smaller pickle because you used a smaller yarn and crochet hook. 👍hope that helps!

Hi! If I was doing this in a jumbo yarn (like Premier parfait xl) how many balls do you reckon it would take? Thanks!
@merrymakes Жыл бұрын
I haven’t actually made a jumbo pickle yet, but I bet you’d be more than fine with 2 ball of PXL. Since you can choose how long you’d like to make your pickle, having the extra ball is nice in case you wanted to go extra big!
@shannonpaddock6992 Жыл бұрын
This is awesome, if I wanted to make a bigger pickle, both in width and length what would be your suggestion? Thank you!
@merrymakes Жыл бұрын
I've got 2 suggestions! 😊1. you could simply purchase thicker yarn and a larger hook-say size 7 jumbo yarn with a 10mm hook. 2. You could add more stitches when you're increasing at the top (when we're making the circle that starts the pickle). Notice how each of the rows is increasing in multiples of 6-if you follow the same pattern/increase sequence, you can increase it to 36, 42, 48, and so on! 👌

Does it matter what size yarn/hook I use?
@merrymakes Жыл бұрын
Nope! As long as your crochet hook is the appropriate size for your yarn, you are good to use this video tutorial! The yarn label will have a recommended hook size, and I usually recommend sizing down so that your stitches are tighter together to better prevent stuffing from being seen! Hope that helps! ❤️

Hi! If I’m trying to make a three inch long pickle, how many stitches would you suggest starting with?
@merrymakes Жыл бұрын
That depends on how thick you want your 3in pickle to be! This pattern expands the circle for 4 rounds. You may just want to do Rounds 1-3, and then do 1sc in each stitch until the pickle is 3in. 😊
