meruem is such an interesting character. Hes so young, but learns so quickly. Hes really too smart for his own good born with a role and then quickly after being aware of his actions and doubting his values. Hes torn between being an ant and a human and even when the ant wins the debate in his head, the human wins the one in the heart. such a dynamic character and watching his philosophy pingpong around on the flip of a dime is really entertaining.

One example is when Pitou and Gon were about to fight, Gon wants to go somewhere outside coz he doesn't want the place where "dead Kite" is be destroyed. Same with Meruem with Netero and Zeno coz Meruem doesn't want the palace where the "alive Komugi" is be destroyed.

The scene with the royal guard perfectly shows their respective personalities. Pouf doesn't care about Meruem, only the King as he thinks he should be. Youpi cares about Meruem but can only acknowledge that he's not meant to answer questions or make decisions, hes just meant to protect the King. Pitou truly cares about Meruem and wishes him to be happy so tells him to choose the name he would enjoy most

I think the most important key is the fact he didn’t know own name. Name is a supreme symbol of individuality or personality,but only he had was the name” King”,as a title. After the battle,he got his personality and humanity because he got his name. And finally Komugi called his real name like his mother… What a Beautiful story telling!

all the humans are programmed and they overpopulate the earth, Meruem taking out 90 percent of the humans would be ideal. 😂 whether they live or die makes no difference, since they are just puppets. But that would never happen. The humans were always going to take him out. They are master of destructions and dirty tricks. 😂😂😂 Meruem stands no chance. Usually in life the lowest scums rule the world. That's why it makes perfect sense the honorable guy has only one way to go, to free himself and hide. Meruem got what he wanted before he dies though. Peace and freedom of choice.
