Mesa Boogie California Tweed || It arrived today - here's it being turned on...

For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... I've been waiting for this for a while now - Mesa Boogie made a California Tweed to my specifications (looks wise - obviously the circuitry is the same) and it looks and sounds beautiful!
Dirt when I used it is the J Rockett Dude.

I love this amp tone. I get very close for the fraction of the price on my Blackstar Club 40 MKll. Definitely get amazing overdrive settings. The Blackstar can not match under the hood of a California Tweed.

Please HELP! I know you'll understand me. I'm stuck in Mesa shopping carts hell... I know this one could possibly be played at reasonable volume/bedroom/recording... I assume the power options from 40 to 3 watts help with this. Is it really the case? Also, how well does this beaitiful clean channel take distortion pedals? Could I use it to get some decent stoner fuzzes? Thanks and great demo!!!

Hey John, how important is the alnico speaker to the sound of the amp? Have you tried it through other speaker cabs? If so, how well does the sound hold up?

Same here, I've been trying to decide between those two amps for a couple months and I'm going with the California Tweed. Just so much incredible vintage type tone with modern amenities, plus I'm also a pedal guy and this amp I just know will play well with them

@@WhiteWolf-- Update: I pulled the trigger on the Cali Tweed. Love it! Just did a socially distanced recording session on the 2 watt setting They used a ribbon mic off axis and it sounds beautiful.

The Cali Tweed is basically a clean platform, you can kinda get like vintage style OD, so for me the Mark V wins on that

@@johnnathancordy 5-6ft away, off center Strat plugged straight in. Contacted Mesa and they are taking it in for servicing. Extremely loud hum on all stages, overly loud popping when turning wattage dial, huge pop when turning standby off…might just be some bad tubes, but since it’s brand new I’d rather they look at it…
