After years of trying to find a amp that even comes close to the Mark V this amp is still the Jack of all trades in 2022 congratulations Mesa boogie awesome product!

Great playing! Really sold me in this amp. I hear it’s hard to get dialed in with all the options but one you do it’s amazing. Hope I can get it dialed in after spending all that money lol
@deanmlshredder5 жыл бұрын
Not really the options but it has an unorthodox preamp. Not only are the control knobs very touchy but they effect the tone of the amp in ways that most amps don't. The treble knob also adds gain and the bass knob really can't go much passed 3 if you're looking for a tight crunch sound that still cuts through. Most of you're bass and treble comes from the eq and presence control. And that presence control is so touchy that 12:00 and 12:30 is the difference between a nice tight balanced sound and a thin fuzz that is like a giant needle through the head. Most amps you would try you can start at the basic blueprint for tone that's already in your head and tweak from there but Mesa and especially the mark series amps are a different animal. But if you're familiar with the Mesa preamp section it comes together real quick and I'll never need another amp unless I start another band. Then I'll just buy a bigger one. And that's got nothing to do with volume just that the el84 doesnt seem to hold it's ass together at high volume like the 6l6 but if you're in a situation where you can isolate and mic you'd have no problem playing a stadium with a Mark v 25 and a 1x12 Recto cab.

Great review and great playing. I always thought this amp sounded a bit too harsh, but it sounds stunning in this review and the clean tones are beautiful. Will definitely go try it out. Awesome video, all the best.

Thanks, Ahmed!!! Yeah, even in this one I could have rolled the highs back a bit, but this amp really is warm. Give us a call if you want one! We'll get it to ya.

I play the Mark IIC+ setting on my mark five 25 with a mesa flux five in front of it and a Boss sustainer. Sounds insane.

Supersonic Music I am currently playing a strat into a fender blues junior.. and I'm interested in this Mark five:25 to get a second channel and with a nice crunch/metal tone.. do you think I can get a clean tone out of the mesa that is comparable to the fender clean tone? and is it worth the price? or would you recommend something else? thank you!!
@SupersonicTopeka10 жыл бұрын
DieFlotteKarotte Yes, I think the Mesa is capable of fantastic clean tones....the "Fat" mode would be my choice for a comparable tone to a Fender clean. Very sparkly and round, and love the warmth that the EL84's bring to the amp.....Thanks for the question!
@prometeo989110 жыл бұрын
Awesome demo dude! Great tone samples and playing. I know you can get metallica tones, lamb of god, santana.... but can you get Trivium, Stone Sour, Killswitch Engage, Tremonti or Alter Bridge tones? If you can do a demo with those tones would be awesome man.

this amp plus some analog pedals look like a better option than a $4k+ Axe Fx rig
@LeggoMaEggo179 жыл бұрын
+JAFO-PTY That is indeed a great setup, but you have to think, the mini mark is only one amp. The Axe FX II can emulate hundreds plus the pedals and effects built in. You get alot more for your money, despite being digital versus analog. But, if you're aiming for one particular flavor, then collecting your own little collection of pedals sounds like fun
@Sir_Dickbag8 жыл бұрын
JAFO-PTY I've gone both routes. Gimme the Mark V any day.
@khvier7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree axe fx still sounds fake and in 3 or 4 years the axe fx will pass, an amplifier like a mesa will never !

AX8 is $1100....
@403woak6 жыл бұрын
The only thing better would be a Mesa 5:25 with Axe Fx hooked up with the 4 cable method. I am using a GSP1101 into an M5:25. I get great tones direct from the M5:25 or additional modeled amps (not to mention nice effects). The modeled amps are really preamps that play through the power amp of the Mesa. This allows me to set up a great modeled clean tone, slightly dirty clean tone, the channel 1 crunch tone, and the channel 2 gain tone all at the press of a footswitch. Also the GSP has a good wah, parametric EQ, and solo boost. >>>> I like them all :) The Axe Fx would be even better, but I'm out of money.

Oh yes.. you love it, more than full size Mark V
@V8LC1008 жыл бұрын
Awesome playing man. I just bought the 35W head and think that the crunch on channel 1 should have its own channel as a clean, crunch and lead would be the go. Also I find it harder to get pinch harmonics than on my DSL100...anyone else having issues or I simply need to give it more than a few hours to get used to.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Orange Dark Terror vs. the Mesa Mark Five: 25?
@draper8585 жыл бұрын
The mark v kills it in so many ways...., more voices, tighter gain, direct out, reverb.... Its the better amp by far
@FBaraky9 жыл бұрын
I may be mistaken, but it seems you're the only person who holds the pick like this (the way I do also) I've seen.

+Felipe Baraky Tavares I started a couple months ago holding it like this. For about 7 years (off and on) I held my pick with 3 fingers but noticed it was slipping out of my fingers when playing fast. So I made an effort to change it and now I just play with 2 fingers. I've tried the 'correct' 2-finger way and it doesn't feel right at all. So now I just kinda pinch it like he does in the video.

good amp for metal at bedroom volumes or no?

I thought this was a demonstration of the amplifier not you playing guitar? Just a suggestion but you didn't go through the different setting in the different modes, it would be a good ideal to show case the amp, not you. You went from Clean to Fat mode and didn't even use the EQ or adjust the other settings. How can I make a decision to buy something if you don't demonstrate the capabilities of the item?
@javiermaderolopez62397 жыл бұрын
Nice tones. Now with a $100.00 guitar. Don't take it wrong. It could be a nice test. In love with Mesa Boogie.
@paulhanley72379 жыл бұрын
Wow, Mk IV mode has a ton of gain. I don't think it's fair to switch from IIC to MIV with the same gain settings. It gets a bit oversaturated and fizzy. Otherwise, I'm impressed with this little beast. Good playing chap!

Is this amp a really expensive bed room blaster or will it cut through drums and bass in a rehearsal studio or live??
@SupersonicTopeka9 жыл бұрын
Neil lieN It cuts through VERY well. Definitely beyond a bedroom blaster. To be fair, if you are playing drop tuned with a loud drummer and bass, it would probably need to be miked if your stage volume is high, but it has a very stout output.
@kindnick588 жыл бұрын
Neil lieN plenty loud

That overdrive sounds terrible.
@clayy0009 жыл бұрын
In person, it's one of the best overdrives I've ever heard
@joshrdealmusic8 жыл бұрын
DomSchu Sounds more like an EQ issue, mic placement issue, or both. The Mark V 25 is very comparable to the original Mark V, and it sounded HUGE in person.
