MESA/Boogie’s Mark Series evolves with more than 50 years of innovation crafted into the new Mark VII Head, Rackmount Head, and 1x12 Combo. Iconic Boogie circuits and familiar features we’ve pioneered have been reexplored, enhanced, and melded with new voices and tools in an easy layout for players to use to dial in inspirational tones, experience the ultimate responsiveness/feel of tube amplification, and simply enjoy playing.
Within the Mark VII’s 3 Channel, 9 Mode preamp are the iconic circuits of the Mark IIB™, Mark IIC+™, and Mark IV™, the legendary Mark Series Clean, Fat, and Crunch modes, and a new modern high-gain Mode full of character and attitude (more shredding than previous Mark amps and more vocal than a Recto), aptly named Mark VII.
Channel Modes
Ch. 1 = Clean, Fat, or Crunch
Ch. 2 = Fat, Crunch, or Mark VII™
Ch. 3 = Mark IIB™, Mark IIC+™, or Mark IV™
Each Channel features:
• Independent 3-Position Style Mode Switch
• Graphic EQ Assignment Switch (On, Off, or Footswitchable)
• Patented Watt Multi-Watt™ 90/45/25 Power Amp Switch
• Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Presence, & Master Controls
• Reverb Control (Footswitchable)
• 8-Position CabClone IR Select Control (back-panel)
The Boogie® Five-Band Graphic EQ, at the heart of chart-topping guitar sounds since the 70s, appears again on this Mark Series amp and acts as a powerful footswitchable or channel assignable tone shaping tool. Add dimension & ambience to the tones you’ve dialed by blending in the ideal amount of lush, tube-driven, analog spring reverb with individual controls for each channel found on the front panel of the Mark VII. A seamless, footswitchable, tube-buffered, series effects loop provides an onboard patch point for effects between the preamp and power section.
Perfectly tailor the Mark VII’s power section to the tones you craft in the preamp using our patented Multi-Watt™ Channel Assignable Power combined with our exclusive Simul-Class™ power. Simul-Class simultaneously marries the efficiency and boldness of Class A/B operation with the warmth and smooth transition to clipping of Class A to create the ultimate in vintage tube tone with modern power and headroom. Choose between 90 Watts of high headroom/tight-tracking Simul-Class power, 45 watts of harmonically complex Class A Pentode power, or 25 watts of sweet, clip-able Class A Triode power. A Bias Select switch gives players the option of swapping out the 6L6 power tubes the VII ships with for EL34s.
Our CabClone IR Direct circuitry, developed in partnership with Two Notes, offers 8 popular MESA Rectifier & Boogie Cabinet Impulse Responses to choose from per Channel for great sounding, quick & easy to use Direct recording, live front-of-house interfacing, or listening with headphones. Its reactive load provides a natural feel as well as protection for the amp when employed in those places where
cabinetry isn’t ideal or feasible. The VII’s DI Section also covers players needing an unfiltered feed for re- amping purposes by providing a ¼” Buffered Dry/Untreated Line Out.
The Mark VII employs MIDI Program Change and Control Change capabilities, enabling you to call up any one of the Channels with MIDI Program Change commands along with your processors that respond to MIDI for one-button convenience in live performance applications. A 6-button (3 x 3) footswitch ships with each amp, allowing players to channel switch and turn on or off their Reverb, FX Loop, and Graphic EQ.
Well over 50 years of everything we know about crafting the world’s best tube amplifiers has gone into our new Mark Series flagship amplifier, the Mark VII, with careful attention paid to supplying the voices and features most requested by our community of players. The Mark VII is an amplifier that will undoubtedly provide players with a lifetime of inspiration & great performance. We look forward to you plugging in, experiencing all it offers, and sharing that experience with us!

Mesa Boogie stopped sales in Europe silently some two years ago and left behind their client base without any service and supplies - not even a notice. Speaking to amp techs I learned that it will be very hard to find a tech for servicing their amps. Their PCB boards are crowded with parts including multiple opto couplers and more. Difficult to service, difficult to find errors, difficult to repair - in Europe now almost impossible. Even their color coded replacement tubes are not available, which is crucial for their fixed bias design. I am now waiting for the day to come when my Mesa turns silent and from there directly into a piece of expensive electronic waste.

Well it certainly does not sound bad and is a highly versatile beast, the big "but" is when it comes time to repair this monster. Mesa's are notorious for their gimmicky options combined with their badly engineered circuit boards. If you have a quick conversation with most amp techs, they'll warn you about Mesa's long-term reliability and maintenance issues in no uncertain terms. I want to "like" Mesa, they sound good but for the price you could get a new Ceriatone (Marshall style) head & a 6505 ii for roughly the same price. You could buy two amps instead of one adding to the versatility, in addition to having an extra amp on stage if something becomes faulty with the first. Again, I'm not trying to hate on Mesa but the competition is steep. We are not in 1992 with only a few high gain options anymore. I'll wait to see if they've made some improvements to this design, before I axe purchasing one. I'll keep an open mind!

Major disappointment they did not integrate preset setting saving and recalling, via MIDI and also a 2nd graphic EQ! I enjoyed the Mark V while I had it, but these amps are well known to be the most insanely difficult to dial in and this prevented me from being able to really utilize the utility of the impressive versatility that exists. Guess we could maybe see that in 10 years with the Gibson Mark X as long as a 2nd bankruptcy does not lead to a distressed debt hedge fund having their turn with Gibson/Mesa because the private equity firm, KKR, which owns both companies now, does not manage to run everything into the ground.

@@dv8322 Mesas aren't the only high priced amps around. Soldano, Friedman, Two Rock, etc. I mean, hey, if an amp half the cost has the features and sound you're looking for, that's awesome! That's what it's about right? A rig that speaks your soul. But to be fair, if your Orange died and the company was kaput and you couldn't buy another, Mesa does make some amps with less channels, etc that sound great.

If you listen (not extremely) carefully, you will definitely NOT hear a sound that has ever been made by any amp maker. EVER. This industry is also dying (artistically) just as many related others. That being said I'm not convinced that anything new could be created in this field, it's just that they are charging ginormous amounts of money for the same thing over and over again while trying to convince people that they are creating something that is new and fresh and better than ever. They are not.

A guy that plays a big clunky Gibson does not want an amp that has a 1000 knobs on it and does not have an EL34 DESIGNED power amp. Acquiring Mesa was a dumber move than robot tuners.
