Very helpful, thank you (although he goes way too fast for a beginner to follow along). I just wanted to add, if you're learning this for the purposes of 3D printing, chances are the voronoi wireframe will end up being way too thin and lack structural integrity. I recommend additional step (before combining objects) of selecting voronoi pattern, then go to Edit --> offset --> go at least 0.25mm distance (it will add a total of 0.5mm wall thickness), hit accept. This will make for a more beefier voronoi that's actually printable.

mee too ... and i have a good desk computer : 16 gig ram, 3 gig video card, intel i5-6400, win 10, all my software run verry good, but i have a serious speed problem whit Meshmixer to transform at Veronoi .... ( edit, dual edges ... take over 30 mintutes..... )

So would this be considered a "remix" of someone else's Bunny model? or can you call this your own?

Does the remesh only work for straight across holes? took an animal off a log to do this with, then tried to close up the big hole left in the log and none of this worked to close it. It only modified the selected rim around the hole, didnt close the hole

Thank you so much for the video! I only have a question: What should I do if I want to have an open area where the voronoi structure connects to the solid body?
@tatianazal8 ай бұрын
You can double wall your model! Copy your mes, make it smaller and do the same thing for filling hole , but thus time you will have a thinner lip.
@TheTranq5 ай бұрын
is there a way to do it so that it fills the inside as well?

Not easily in Meshmixer, unfortunately!

How many triangles are in the mesh that you are processing?
@Decoda3D27 күн бұрын
how would i do this without many sides like a flat surface
@AndrewSink27 күн бұрын
Subdivide the surface and use the lines? That might be a good place to start!

Hey there!!!Nice tutorial!! How can we make a clip for a strap? for example: I have a splint for an arm and i want to create extruded slots for a straps to go through and bind with an other strap in the other direction.

So if I have a completely solid object like a strawberry with more than 1 wall, how would I go about that differently?
@AndrewSink4 жыл бұрын
Fathom Wild Hmm, if it’s completely solid, it’s only one shell. If there’s more than one shell, that means there are more than one bodies, right?
@fathomwild22244 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewSink oh I misspoke, I meant to say the model is simply solid, single body. Also thank you for the reply

Does anyone know if it is possible to create this pattern internally also, on a solid object?
@AndrewSink Жыл бұрын
Can you describe how the pattern would intersect with the solid object?
@bigchungus9171 Жыл бұрын
@@AndrewSink Not certain what you mean by this? I would like the same random voronoi pattern creating 'cells' within the object as well as on its outer face.

I'm trying to perform this same effect on a DAZ 3D model but it totally doesn't give me the same effect. I think the vertices are too small and when I reduce it, the mesh breaks apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Huh. Is that a file format?

@@AndrewSink Yeah, they can be exported as an OBJ or other such file format. The particular figure I exported to OBJ format.
