Thanks mate. Nothing is one of my fav albums! But then there's Koloss and Choasphere and Obzen haha
@ithertzz2 жыл бұрын
Initially, like 12 months ago...Meshuggah was too hard, too complicated, to heavy for me to listen to. Now I'm here watching your medley vids daily and actively listening to koloss/obzen most days (demiurge and swarm are absolute bangers), mesmerized at the machine like accuracy of Haake's playing and how in sync the rest of the band is. The part in this medley that caught my attention was the cymbal work on the outro - fantastic playing from you sir, in addition to every other perfect stroke on the kit. Haake can't be replaced but I'm confident you'd be a rad fill in in if they needed it.
@ithertzz2 жыл бұрын
Probably on my 30-40th replay of the outro. Incredible. One of my favorite pieces of drumming from any one, ever. The transition into the outro is SO smooth and the kit sounds amazing.

Damn f***ing great drum work. And thank you so much for playing "Straws" two times with that god outro part (and the fills you put in where great as well)!!

Spectacular. The playing on Straws Pulled at Random (esp. at 8:34) is so clear and precise that it helps me understand the tricky rhythm better than any official version. Thank you for making this.

This is the absolute best video of human talent on KZbin....by far....to mix and split these songs and splice and still not miss a beat...I quit haha...and I'm not even a drummer!!

I love Haake. I love you. I love you lots. Your medleys are amazing, taking the best bits of an entire album and just melting some faces with some serious skill and HD recording equipment. Kit sounds beautiful in addition and I think I'm going back to Sabian...
@altrogeruvah10 жыл бұрын
That was the most feel-good Meshuggah drum cover I've ever seen. That was the last Meshuggah album I liked, I prefer their faster / thrashier era. The range of dynamics in Straws Pulled At Random and Spasm felt so confident, you're an amazing drummer.

this video (and the other medley videos) is tremendous. I'm REALLY glad you chose to play that part of Stengah, that section of the song is very challenging. Hoping you'll be doing a Koloss medley at some point in the future!

I do love how you did all of this but I still wonder how you didn't hear that the second kick pedal snapped? Unless you were so into-it that you didn't notice. I am not criticizing at all. I am truly asking a question as I am in a band and do several different instruments but not drums. I was hoping to get some insight. I know my two drummers like me on keyboards or on bass guitar but the other variables I can only learn from the sessions I record... I wonder if they notice when/how they mess up

Haha! that was crazy! Don't stop posting because you're going to be huge on youtube. And when you're on the cover of modern drummer, I'll be glad to say I was a fan from the start :) Oh, and have you ever heard of Dave Martone? He's a sick guitarist and his drummer is Daniel Adaire, from Nickelback. Now say what you want about Nickelback, but Daniel is a monster drummer. You'd probably like him. He's another polyrhythm guy and it would be sick to see you cover some of his stuff in the future.
