I would absolutely love to see you react to their whole catch-33 album since it's 13 tracks that flow together as one song with 3 or 4 distinct sections. It's only about 47 minutes so it hopefully wouldn't run more than 2 hours of video length and you would be one of 3 people on the platform to react to it. Trust me when I say the meshuggah fans would come out in force to run it up, just like we did when drew fortune did his full reaction. A lot of us believe it to be their best work so far, and while I still put obzen above it, its easily their second best album imo.

Would love to hear more Intronaut. Love to hear Danny getting some love on his last album he was with the band. Dude is criminally underrated. The way he plays busy but still modestly, especially using cymbals to compliment the music, is all just awesome. Everything he plays has such clarity, his drums and cymbals sound amazing and it never sounds overbearing. They released one album without him and while the band is still badass, their music has a COMPLETELY different feel because Danny Walker is gone.

I’m still here mang! Love the new format as I’m of the belief that more of your insight is always appreciated. It may be tough to pull off but you could do them by “themes” - so like a few songs that illustrate a musical concept nicely or a whole suite of songs back-to-back. Hi Geebz. Welcome back!! Glad to hear you're doing well and keen to continue our musical journey! The new format is a great idea having the option to listen to a group of tunes, but it really depends on what is easiest for you... I'd say the only drawback on this format is that it's harder to sort through people's comments that are specific to the particular band or genre. I often like to read the comments to find out a bit more about the band or other tracks of theirs. Obviously still can do, but just a bit harder this way! Keep up the great work regardless mate! Cheers from London, UK.

How did you manage to hit on probably THE three bands that have defined my heavy music listening of the last 10 years in one video? Serious hats off to you sir. Elder will almost casually toss a world class riff in for a few measures and then never play it again across a 10-15 minute song and they do this again and again. Check out the title track from the album "Lore".
@cristanecanada2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the advantages of the new format are... My guess is, you would have more views with the 3 separate videos than you would with a combined one. I'm not 100% sure how chapters work, but won't me watching this only give you one view, as opposed to 3 views if there were separate tracks? Also, tracks would be much easier to find for non-subscribers who are just looking for content on specific bands. Having said that, great vid. Sul Ponticello is one of the best Intronaut tracks.

I agree with this. I personally do not care, because I only watch the videos about bands I know already, and this video for example I only watched the Meshuggah part and I'm fine with that! This format is a fantastic way to get around to more tracks from bands, and it gives you liberty to (if you wish) cycle through 2 or 3 singles from one album, get to 2 or more "standout" tracks that people have recommended to you (or ones that you know of prior, like TBT or with classic rock & metal,) or in this case, get to multiple tracks within the same sort of genre, or like tracks. Hopefully this will be a win-win for you and the audience, Geebz, cause I could absolutely see this being a great shift in the channel! And like you said, if things start getting to be too much, or if you want to switch it up again, it's all good to me. This channel is a great way for me to experience new bands, and occasionally some new tracks from bands I've heard of before. Thanks for all you do, man, and wish you the best with everything! Interesting format for sure! If you feel you can get a finger on the pulse of overlapping fandoms this new format could benefit you as well as the the viewers tremendously! If you hit 2/3 bands people are very likely to stick around for the third. Your analysis and ear for interesting details carries it more than well enough for people to stick around for the full duration and you get to occupy that algorithm sweet spot of 2-3 videos per week. Nothing but win win if you're able to tweak it to make retention consistent! I'm definitely here for it! Keep at geebing at it!
@ASDAFL2 жыл бұрын
I don't mind the new format, but I'm leaning towards preferring the old format, mainly for two reasons. The first reason being KZbin's prickly copyright system on videos. If a song gets claimed by a company it could take down or restrict the entire video from some countries, which would affect being able to listen to the other songs that are in the video. You would have to be careful of the songs you select going forward. The second reason would be the comments. For some people who would only want to talk about a couple of the songs, they would need to wade through the comments to reply to other people. Or in the instance that one song is super popular, it would bury the comments on the other songs. I'm liking you changing things up and experimenting. I'll definitely be watching regardless of the format, but just thought I'd share my views on the change. All the best Geebz!

I`m always still here dude. Liking the new format and if it works better around your life and health then it is definitely the way to go. I think the new style will introduce more people to more new bands which I have always been about and is one of the main reasons I started watching music reactions in the first place. You may lose a few people to attention spans that are starting to decrease every year but most music fans are into longer (album length rather than just singles) listens especially in these genres, but the inclusion of the chapters is a great move to give the best of both worlds.

This is actually a great idea. There's definitely been some bands on your channel people have no doubt skipped because they've never heard of them before. In a format like this, if they've already clicked on the video, they can have a little listen anyway and see what it is.

He would be the absolutely perfect reactor for DSO. That band needs more recognition. As well, I would die to see him react to Unexpect.

I recommended Superhero Jagganath during the livestream, but I don't think he saw it. Would love to see him decompose DSO though.

I havn't actually listened to new Meshuggah yet. It was fun to kind of "coreact" to this with your video. Thanks Mr Geebz!

After watching the full video, i go to ask if this format is taking away from us the possibility of reactions to larger pieces from bands like between the buried and me, or pretty much any long song that i (and i know that i am no the only one) personally love. Hope you can make it work like some kind of special episode or something like that.

Thank you for that - good point :)

I agree. I believe this new format is worth a valid effort but have apprehensions about it working in the long run (for your reason and others). Maybe such a format would be best served as a monthly "new release" special?
