Barry, it may be time to have a readily available checklist. I understand forgetfulness. I suffer the same. You know firsthand if you hurt yourself, you are on your own. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. 🤔📃
@gardensofthegods2 жыл бұрын
Odd that you should say that because in these comments somebody said he broke his ankle and tore his tendon . As for the forgetfulness there are some things you can do that are all natural and they are brain food . If you can buy butterfly blue pea tea or grow it ... it grows on the vine and the flowers are beautiful Deep Blue . You let them steep for at least 40 minutes and that tea is supposed to be very good for the brain and the whole neurology and other things . It's botanical name is Clitoria Ternatea. Personally the brand I like is called something like Shu Zen or Shou Zen . Seemed very fresh but you should take it out of the nylon tea bag . There are a number of videos about how good it is for you healthwise . You should also try to do a little bit every day or at least several times a week of black seed oil and the best come from in and around India and the Arabic countries because they have been making it for thousands of years . You can usually get it at the Indian Grocers and I like a brand called Ashwin Labs . The other one is pure ashwagandha powder without any fillers ...you don't want it in capsules . Said to be an adaptogen so it helps you deal with stress but sleep better at night and it is the only thing out there known to grow new brain cells . You're supposed to always take it with some ghee ... and if you want mixed in with some milk ... supposed to be with a good quality fat in other words . Helps with a number of things but also is said to get rid of depression and negativity . Ignore the videos of the guys Pumping Iron with no shirts on saying that it increases the testosterone because they did not do their research properly and what ashwagandha does is it balances the hormones for men and women alike . If you can do two or three of these things every week you will probably start to see a difference with memory and thinking more clearly

Captain Barry .. Another very enjoyable "real life" on the water video adventure .. Remember what the wise old Sage told me many years ago .. 'Given enough time, with the right equipment, and I'll get the task at hand accomplished' .. And, he also told me .. 'Life is hard yard by yard .. But, inch by inch, it's a cinch' .. And, neither have let me down in my 75 years .. Stay well, and thanks for posting.

Take care and make sure you look after yourself Barry 🙏👍😎

He needs to drink a lot more water because it's very easy to get dehydrated and not even know it . Dehydration is more serious than people know and it can really affect the ability to think clearly . He can also do things like drink butterfly blue pea tea regularly which is really good for the neurology . Scientists and doctors have proven that people who live in the part of the world where they drink that have much more youthful brains and less forgetfulness . You just have to let it steep pretty long like 40 minutes . It turns the water a deep Vivid blue .

@gardensofthegods2 жыл бұрын
Funny I don't recall that song and I used to have a book that had all their lyrics and chords . I'll have to look for it I just don't remember it . Funny you mentioned the dead because just last night I was looking at a film clip of when Bob Weir and Jerry's wife and a few others took Jerry's ashes and put them in the Ganges River . It's titled Jerry Garcia's Funeral ... or very similar to that but it was nice and not morbid .

It's great living through Barry. I've never had a desire to sail around the world. Many have the desire w/o ever once setting foot on a boat. Having made several sailing journeys/deliveries in my youth... ( twice, 7 days offshore in the Gulf Stream encountering 30 foot seas & many, many 1 or 2 day trip deliveries) , I had just enough of a taste of it to quell that desire.
@gardensofthegods2 жыл бұрын
30 ft waves oh my God ... yeah I think that would make a lot of people never want to be on a boat again . I'll bet you've got some really incredible stories .
@jeffrandolf56732 жыл бұрын
@@gardensofthegods "Stories"? Nothing too dramatic... just a few things that stick out in my memory.... One 7 day trip from Ct. to Ft. Laud, Fla., we had one FBI agent for crew. He brought his .38 revolver. We took a plywood floorboard, tied a line through the lift finger hole in it & dragged it 50 or so feet behind the boat. We all took shots from the stern at the floor board... then pulled it in to see who might've hit it. We were on the other side of the Gulf Stream... no other boats nor land for well over 100 miles. Once in very strong wind & seas, at midnight, the main halyard SNAPPED where it attaches to the head of the mail sail. The recoil from the snapped halyard shot straight up & spun like a helicopter blade at the top of the mast taking out all out wind speed/direction instrument heads, anchor light, tri-color light, antenna.... everything at the mast head. No more wind direction, nor wind speed on the instruments. You learn how to sail without instruments real fast by feeling the gusts & watching the tell-tales on the sails. And our radio communication was compromised. On an aluminum, 65 foot mini-maxi racing sloop, flat bottom, fin keel, not made for rough seas... the flat hull forward of the keel would ''oil can" (pop in & out) going over the tops of the 30 footers. Oil canning weakens the hull/welds & can potentially compromise the integrity of the hull (crack/hole). So to stop the ''oil-canning", when we reached the top of a wave, as soon as the stern would start to lift, (rudder easier to turn) we'd spin the 6 foot diameter helm's wheel hard to starboard (on a starboard tack) so the boat would slide & surf down the back side of the wave on it's side, rather than slamming down over the top & ''oil-canning''. Doing this for a 3 hour watch was a WORK OUT! Our top speed was 25 knotts, surfing the 65 foot boat down the back of some of the steepest waves. This was in the late '80's when I was in my late 20's. Now I'm 59... i'd do it again... one more time. Edit: Last story of note... also on the other side of the Gulf Stream, we had a pod of Killer Whales come up & swim & jump out of the water in front of the boat the same way dolphins do.

Hey Barry. Mate get yourself south into more scenery. And can I say that in the far North they have a very high rain fall. Come to the Bay of Plenty. Named by Capt. Cook. On the way there are many delights of which the Wynns have seen some. And along the way to the Port of Tauranga there are many safe Harbors. Like Whitianga, Whangamata, Tairua & Omokaroa. The only thing is, is that we are told we have the wettest winter in years. Today for me is the 11th June & I'm walking around the house in shorts & T shirt. With blue sky's & patchy cloud. 16 deg. C has been our high & I expect 7 will be our low tonight.
