​@toututu2993 because the quest 2 was a major success and that was only a 4 years ago. VR is also extremely hard to market because videos shown from within the headset don't translate the actual Experience like at all..

Finally a review that is honest and transparent regarding the pro's and cons of the Quest 3s. I got the 3s since monday and I am amazed by thr experience because I never had a VR headset before. It is true that the resolution is a bit grainy but when you play games in MR or VR thr image quality is still clear and crisp enough and doesnt hamper the immersive experience at all.

Despite what opinions we all have of Facebook, they are doing a good job with the marketing side of this product. It's important to get hardware in that mainstream price range, while also having a higher tier product for enthusiast.

Quest is great for games. Basic use such as watching KZbin and Socializing with others in VR. Vision PRO, is in a whole other league. Productivity , entertainment and VISION OS2 is just far superior and easier to use/understand. It's a completely different experience (for both) Quest no doubt has value. Tons of it. Vision pro is just the best experience you can get for MR/VR.

I’ve never experienced VR or AR before (at least not in a headset). Would you recommend this as a first time purchase? Or is it a gimmick that gets used less and less over time?

This is based on the Quest 2 which had very low retention levels. If you want to get into VR and AR then the Quest 3 is a much better choice.

@@dtz1000 yes a Rolls Royce car is a nice car than a mini,, but it costs ££££,,, the 3s is fine,, the only difference is the display,, electronics ie cpu / ram etc they are .... identical he says " Quest 2 which had very low retention levels " i think they sold 10...20 million of them and not many 3 so ???

To me gimmick thingy is just a tip of the iceberg. My best experience with my Quest 2 is after 2 years of experience in playing some games on it. So is pretty much got to do with which games you played that you gonna keep playing it or just got bored and stopped. Is no different to flatscreen but is 10 times more entertainning, control, possibility, and overal experience. Do not judge the system itself, it is amazing tech and product but the real experience is within the softwares.

Great review of the new budget headset from Meta! As a quest 3 owner, I'm glad you found it a compelling and fun experience whilst being someone who seems to be heavily invested in Apples ecosystem. That little bit more resolution you were craving is present on the standard Quest 3. I will say that if a user is going to primarily play games and is not looking be productive, I can't think of a better system for a curious newcomer who may not want to spend the full $500. Cheers!

Just bought this today so thanks for this. Downloaded free batman game so quite happy.Right little question. I've just sold my ps4 + vr set up. Only vr I've ever played is the PSVR And games ace combat walking dead etc . Is this a big jump in quality from that?. Am I going to be pleasantly surprised?. Cheers

got me a quest 3, never tried the vision pro, but its absolute insanity for apple to put such a ridiculous price tag on it. good luck to them finding 3rd party apps in their stores for that device. they will have to build their entire ecosystem on their own. quest 3 is a very good product for price point. its by no means low quality

Great video My quest 3S is downloading a software update. And it's been doing it for over two hours. When I look at it it still says downloading update and than will shut off How long does that update take? I'm worried?

@@toututu2993 Nah. Quest 3S is still an improvement, and then you can save the extra $200 on getting games and a better headstrap, + then when the quest 4 comes out it won't feel like a waste to buy it day 1.

Quest pro is a horrible option when the quest 3 came out it was better in every way and even in an interview they (meta) were asked if there was any reason to buy the quest pro and there was no reason even without the price difference. So either get quest 3 or 3s or a non stand alone one

Big misses from the Quest 3S that the Quest 3 has is the depth sensor and pancake lenses that really does help it show it unbelievable value over Vision Pro

Something like Meta Quest is truely a complex tech device but with very low price point. I have tried many home techs including the one that cost beyond 2k and none are as impressive as my $300 Quest 2. Seeing how they manage to cramped all the modern techs inside the headset is extremely impressive.

Vision Pro has high resolution OLED displays, so it's going to be way better than this low resolution LCD headset. Quest 3 is way better value for money though.

Doing boundaries will get very old fast. That’s where Vision Pro’s put on a go for the main user wins because you never have to draw or map a boundary! First timers love a boundary, after the 9 millionth time 😫 you just wanna get going. 😉

I like my meta quest 3 for game playing and video watching, but the UI is very clumsy and frustrating with hand movements. No where as smooth as AVP. Unlike our influencer, I receive no compensation for this opinion.

They hope their goodwill influences the review. Those influencers that give glowing reviews get more products to reviews and in some cases perks such as payed junkets. I enjoy playing games on my MQ3, but I know how frustrating the UI is with hand gestures. Nothing close to my demo of the AVP. They are not in the same league. I won’t buy the AVP because lack of gaming, price, and weight, but for you to not comment on the deficits of the Quest UI shows a degree of lack of objectivity that I feel was due to the free trial that in turn gave you the ability to post a review that in turn provided you with revenue.

I totally respect your opinion. And I have mine, which is what's in this video. And of _course_ brands send out products in the hope of a favourable review - wouldn't you?! As for providing me with some revenue, this video has made about £20 in AdSense thus far and cost an awful lot more than that to make. Thankfully, my business is much wider than that, which is why I'm able to provide these free, genuine reviews of products on time for people who are considering buying them. I'd kindly ask that you be a little less cynical about content creators like myself, or stop watching us altogether. Or, alternatively, give it a go yourself - you clearly have lots of opinions and, you never know, you might hit the press seeding list yourself.

@@nigelstockley7011I would say Mark would admit to not being the biggest when it comes to VR/XR tech reviews, so there is definitely more to the Vision Pro vs Quest debate. Meta have been selling headsets at a loss for years to grow adaption, non of their devices have gotten near Vision Pro on the spec sheet and the closest was Quest Pro from a display standpoint (still not close) and that device was $1500 which was a flop. Apple on the other hand are selling what is by far the best “specced” stand alone headset currently on sale, but the price reflects it (with Apple tax on top) and the Apple library is shockingly low. So you have a loss leader vs a show of tech ability. It’s nice to have choice right, if you want a video media machine and have lots of money to burn, Vision Pro is in its own league. If you want to game and have a light product that makes wearing easier and don’t care about high resolution and all that Dolby Atmos/vision/3D etc, Quests the by fair the best headsets on the market for value for money.
