The experimental option is for USB Microphones. USB headphones work whether that option is enabled or not. If the option is enabled though, it will use the microphone on your headphones (if they have one)

@@pablo5425 no, it only has 1 USB C port on the headset. If you wish to have headphones plugged into your headset and connect it to PC via some form of link, you're either going to be stuck with wireless link or with connecting your headphones to your PC directly

You can also search for replacement parts and although tedious, you can replace just tge display. But at this point we are in the technicalities territory zo take what I say with a grain of salt)

I have to correct you. The better battery isn't only because of the resulotion it mostly because pancake lenes need the content to be way brighter to get the same brightness to the user as frelents lentes

Correction, there is q 1 sensor missing from the 3, the depth sensor, so if you are at all interested in mixed reality the 3 is significantly better

That sensor is almost never used, only when you set your player area, and when you create a scan of your room for ar games. But it never used while you are playing or in passtrough. So it’s almost not even needed, just makes rarely needed to do things a bit quicker.

For the people worried, no headphone jack really doesnt matter. Most people have headphones, but wont use them cus the built in speakers are right next to your ears, acting as headphones, but wayyy more comfortable. And if privacy youre worried about, watch this. Put your phone at 1 percent volume then the speakers right beside your ear. Itll sound super loud, but when you take it away, you wont hear anything.

Depends on what you value. Big screen has a terrible fov, and no standalone features, nor does it have color pass through or pass through at all. Therefore no mixed reality support. If you have a bad neck or back I’m sure it’s a winner though.

Performance is the same or better than the quest 3 but the visuals are worse A replacement for the Quest 2, good for new vr owners but not good enough to replace a Quest 2 for a casual owner.

@@Slap_Ninja It's got the OLED screens but it's a PenTile display, which causes a much more noticeable screen-door effect compared to the quest 2, though the fact that it's 2 separate displays, one for each eye, rather than one single display which is divided down the middle does make it a bit nicer.

As somebody who has been a hard-core quest user for years, I could never come to using the downgraded lenses. 20% more pixels might not sound like much, but I can tell the difference pretty dang easy. As a vr pro, quest 3 easily tops the 3s even with a higher price.

I have a 2 & 3, got both less than 20 days before release and I will say that it was some of the best purchases ive ever made, the 2 is comfortable and cheap, the frensel lenses suck tho the 3 runs well, comfortable, pancake lenses, but a bit more expensive i recommend the 3s for new vr users, if you are on a 2, upgrade, if you are on a 1, PLEASE GIVE- (memorabilia sort of thing)

Does the passthrough look better while WEARING the headset? My issue with my Quest 3 is that the passthrough is stupid grainy and a little distorted (which is not a big deal considering its a bunch of small lenses stitched together. Most 360 cameras have distortion in the same way.) The graininess bothers me the most because the games look fine, and the video from the same cameras is also fine. It's just the passthrough that has issues no matter where i try it and regardless of light level.

Wouldn't it perform better if it runs at a lower resolution if the other hardware is the same? So theoretically if you want games to run at a higher/more stable framerate the 3D would be the better pick wouldn't it? I'm considering finally jumping to get my first VR headset and slightly lower resolution is fine to me if that means framerates will be better.

No. The processors can easily run dual 4k no problem. 3s just performs the same and looks worse.

No headphone jack, bruh on a vr headset? 😂 Those vrchaters and gamers are gonna love the echo or the terrible noise suppression. 😃 Edit. I know theirs adapters and usb c headphones. But that's just letting them take away things to save a couple of pennies and probably make their own adapters or headphones for you to buy and spend more. Also, the BIG thing to consider is that the regular link is used by the USB C port As a user of virtual desktop for the past 3+ years, I can tell the difference between my recommended wifi 6 router over a cable. It's a bit delayed compared to the actual link. I can't recommend this headset to any of my friends. I have a personal bias with adapters, I hate em. That's my opinion, it's your money you can chose to buy it.

Compared to the pancake lenses that have the binocular overlap effect and the vignette effect that makes the borders of the lenses darker giving the impression you are looking trhough binoculars.
