Generate Blender Blendshape Rig Tutorial from Any Metahuman DNA
This is a demonstration tutorial for exporting blendshapes of metahuman DNA assets and automatically importing BlendShapes into Blender for facial binding plugin
The general steps of the video tutorial are:
1. Firstly, use the Dna2BlendShape command-line tool to extract 258 blendshapes from the DNA file
2. Automatically bind and extract blendshape using the MetahumanBSTiger blender plugin
3. Add materials and import facial animations
The animation file textures and DNA used in the video, as well as the generated BS and Blender file samples in the video, can be downloaded from link: drive.google.c...
Disclaimer: The facial binding using 258 blendshapes in the video does not match the DNA driven binding effect of metahuman. Please download the sample to view the effect before purchasing

Hey man, just bough your export level sequence addon however it isnt working as intended, the animation in the level sequence in unreal looks different that in blender with the same metahuman character, in blender the animation is more "extreme" . However the control rig looks the same in both. where can i contact you to get help with this? only happens with specific animations, please help asap

It works great, thanks! But, there is a small error related to the fact that about half of the blendshapes are not connected to guiPanel

hi,please check your dna version, If your DNA was just generated through UE5.4, your DNA version should be mh4, so you need to use the MetahumanBSRigerForMh4Dna.zip plugin. During the dna2blendshape stage, observe if the exported blendshape ammount has more than 259. If it is, it means you are using mh4 version of DNA. Otherwise, it means you are using an older version of DNA and need to use the MetahumanBSRigerzip addon.

@@vectorwang9632 I want to say right away that this is a very cool plugin and overall I am very happy, despite the mistakes! Thank you very much! The number of blendshapes at the output was 270 and I got the DNA using your other MetaBlRiger plugin. I also noticed that the morphs that relate to teeth move only the teeth, without moving the skin of the character, so the teeth slightly seep through the skin of the character. Not sure if this is correct)

​@@DenisNesanov thank you for your kind words, if you are using Metabrig to generate DNA, the dna is the mh4 version DNA, and the BS related to teeth only moves the teeth without affecting the character's skin.,this situation is normal, and it is also normal for the teeth to slightly penetrate the character's skin. If you want to solve this problem, you can move the teeth backwards when generating DNA, and then regenerate DNA

it can work on any metahuan head dna. The head model in the tutorial is only for demonstration purposes

@@vectorwang9632 Do it have to be compiled for 5.4? i want to buy it, and the json exporter, but i need to wait until i can afford it, i always have trouble compiling plugins, i would need a 5.4 compatible plugin in order to buy it.

if I import metahuman face rig animations made using live link and bring it in blender can I retarget those animations to other faces having metarig ? If yes then how. Also if I import the facerig from unreal to blender and later can I simply use livelink facedata to directly target inside blender 😊 if yes then how

These are good question. I will create relevant tutorials in the future. first question, currenty only one metarig in blender can work, so if there are multi metarig in blender, there may produce an error, so users cannot retarget those animations to other faces having metarig in blender. i will fix the problem in the future. Second question, currently no, there is another solution available, users can bake the livelink data to controller data and export the controler data to json, then import the json to blender

no, it only works in blender and could not export back to unreal currently
