in 1983 Nina did a Disco/Dance/Funk Album which is just about the craziest thing I have heard. This was the second single which was pretty big in clubs at the time. It combines opera, dance, and rap. Interesting fact- her back up band for this album (although not on this song) was the red hot chili peppers, and half the album was co written with them. This video will crack you up!

I was playing her on my radio shows over 40 years ago. Bless you for sharing this incomparable living gem of a performer who almost seems to be from another world. I think her versatility breaks every measuring device ever devised. As e.g. in this song, she's paroding a song by Zarah Leander, which was promoted by the Nazis at the time, that you only have to stick to being strong to your (in this case: nazist) believes… and "you're gonna win". But in the end, you don't… gladly, the Nazis lost, and all the shiny illusions the Nazis were prospecting just went up in the flames of war and only left the grey dust of the shady forgotten hopes of generations lost on some faraway soils. A useless war, a useless effort. Just illusions without reality.

Nina Hagen was so far ahead of her time. She inspired so many other female singers that today's young people claim invented everything. Wrong. Nina invented everything. She often revived forgotten songs, like here "Ich weiss es wird einmal ein Wunder geschehen" by Zarah Leander. Well done for your Nina Hagen reviews.
